** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Got an email from OCUK 20 mins ago, saying my MSI Gaming X has been dispatched - yay :)

I also got my shipping notice around the same time.

It's probably worth noting that I swapped my order from the Asus Strix to the MSI Gaming X pretty late in the day on Friday, so OC obviously got a good amount of stock in.

Hey Gibbo, I noticed you said the msi 1080 aero is due end of this week (I assume therefore Friday?) any idea on quantity you are getting in? I ask because last time I asked I was position 34 and wanted to know if I could be hopeful for a card this week :)

Smart tactics, they know people mainly want the card, so on first waves they ship the more expensive pack with the extra bits in that to be honest most people do not need but will pay the £40 more to get the card sooner.

Though I do have to admit Gigabyte have nailed it with the Extreme and Waterforce series having 1936MHz boost clocks, overclocked memory and 4yr warranty. I think these are the fastest out the box cards on the market and also have a great warranty package.

Gibbo,

Any idea how many extremes are due in? Enough to cover current orders in the first wave? Thanks.

Read this on the EVGA EU forums. This was posted 5 days ago

OK everyone here is the answer I received from EVGA EU:

"The SC version is already available all across stores in Europe, at our homepage we will have it end of the week.

The demand/requests for this card are just higher then what we can deliver, supply will increase within the next 2 weeks.

The FTW version should be available in Europe End of next week, beginning of the following week.
Same here, requests will probably be higher then the cards we can deliver. Two weeks after first availability supply will be higher."

Then this 4 days ago

Hi everyone,

i can understand that lots of People cant wait to have their new card in hands, but please understand the following situation:

I can 100% confirm that not a single card has been shipped into channel partners in Europe. We are expecting product to arrive to Europe in 10-14 days. Upon receipt we always allocate some stock to our EVGA Shop and to step-up, however we also need to support our channel partners right across Europe. So FTW will appear at EVGA Shop and selected (allocated) channel partners across Europe at the same time.

Thanks for your understanding and best Regards

Even after all the moaning I did about it I really am contemplating upgrading my FTW to the MSI Sea Hawk..

just not sure I can last the time between FTW coming into stock and EK making the blocks available some time in July.. A wait of possibly up to another month maybe more than i can take.

I have called OC twice this morning and hung up before anyone answered... Man UP!!!

They are sending everything they make to the US

And that isnt much! From EVGA twitter feed they are only managing up to 10 FTW per day and for now that's not going to retailers in the US but is solely being used to fulfill back orders on EVGA.com website.

I can see EVGA taking up to the end of July to clear backlogs assuming everybody doesn't jump ship before then.

Not necessarily. Your queue number on the MSI gaming X is based on when you ordered the Strix, not when you swapped.

So you may have jumped to first place if your STrix order was really early.

Most have jumped.

As of last Friday he expected enough to cover the current back log with a few spare.

Strix cards arrive all the time, like 10 every day, but with near 1000 sold its gonna take some time.

Gigabyte G1 arrives next week, order and you will get one.

Gigabyte Extreme next week or week after, hopefully enough to cover all backorders and leave a few spare.

MSI Gaming X next week, but lots pre-sold so unsure if we will have free stock.

Zotac next week, but only to cover backorders.

By end of June a lot of backorders will clear and more cards will show in stock in July, of course people pre-ordering now stand better chance of getting a card sooner rather than waiting.......

@Gibbo

Considering switching from my 2 1080 Classified pre-orders over to the 2 of the Gigabyte Xtreme edition. I'm in 13th position for classys by the way. If I was to do this, how long of a wait would I be in for do you think?

EDIT: Sry meant the regular Xtreme edition

Phew, was getting worried there for a minute. My order for Gaming X has finally been shipped. I can finally kiss goodbye to the 1080 Delay Launch Disaster of 2016.

I ordered my Strix fairly "late" (shortly before the price bump); I was 500 something in the queue and was looking at this time next month for delivery. Having already sold my 970 I wasn't willing to wait that long, which is why I chose to swap to the MSI despite getting a great deal on the cheaper Strix pricing.

Now I was 16th in MSI queue but I switched to GLH bandwagon ;) If only they arrive today the dispatch email might reach me today as well. I am apparently 1st in queue for this batch of GLH.

Moments like this I wonder why did I switch ;) Hopefully it will be worthwhile.

Fingers crossed for you man.

The only queue that matters to me now.
