** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Checked with Gigabyte again today and they say they shipped. :)
They did give me bad news though the Xtreme shipment they sent they recalled due to a packaging issue causing the fan to touch and make noise. So those are being redone and reshipped end of next week now. :(

Well...there is no advantage of being 1st in the queue for xtreme if there is no stock coming.
I also preorder G1 at Amazon because price was £559.
Amazon thinks it will be in stock on 7th July.

Good I did not cancel yet...it may arrive before I get xtreme.

Well looks like i solved my Strix coil whine problems, it was the psu all along. Ordered the EVGA SuperNova P2 850W and installed it today replacing a 7 year old psu and the coil whine has magically disappeared. So there u have it. Just a shame i had to spend £130 odd for the privilage.

Why would you run a psu for 7 years anyhow

I thought that retailers couldn't take money without despatching goods? That's pretty poor practice of OCUK to take money without sending a product for a month or more

they can, some big retailers don't because the hassle of refunding people is more than any benefit to having the money early (particularly where a lot of the goods they sell are of lower value than a typical GPU) - they have one process that they apply to all goods, so overall it works out better for them to only take the money when they have the goods available to allocate and ship

Re the jungle people did they tell you the 7th July? ...as i was told between the 20th June & the 3rd July

Waiting for my EVGA 1080 SC. Is it as scarce as the FTW?

70ish in the queue. Wonder when i'll be getting it.

In the same boat. Last update I read was a new shipment was coming this weekend, I think Ben said about 50 cards. but I haven't been on the thread since last week and nothing has been mentioned in the last few pages.

Yeah, basically none of either of them having read through this thread. It did seem like there were a lot more people waiting for an FTW (although a fair few have switched it seems).

I have asked about my SC and am being told the 1st, but I don't know what number in the queue I am. All I can say is that I only preordered on the 20th so am not that bothered about waiting another week at the moment.

@Gibbo Any news from MSI re. gtx 1080 gaming x?

I'm on the verge of cancelling my order all together and forgetting this whole nvidia gpu monkey business.

I swapped from EVGA FTW because I don't fancy paying up and waiting for at least a month for a card...but it looks like MSI (and others) isn't much better in this regard! I've ordered on the 16th (a week ago) and so far there are no signs of my card...only £630 charge on my account. bonkers!

We had our hopes up with all these exciting news about deliveries from AIB partners but it looks like it was drop in the ocean...
I was 40ish in the queue for MSI gaming x 1080 when I ordered a week ago and as of today still no card...

Do not get me wrong I am just giving you idea how things looked for those who had already received the card.

I have ordered on 27th - Strix. Landed 122th... then switched to MSI Gaming X (before any stock of it has arrived) and landed 16th in the original queue. No pushing of anybody back. I was just 16th and last in the queue at that time. Then I switched to Gainward GLH, again very early, as I was on the ball with the reviews and landed 13th again of the original queue before any stock has arrived and I have received the card just an hour ago maybe... sooo loong story as you can see. If I would stick with my original order I would be waiting for another 2-3-4? weeks? ... and I have ordered on 27th so almost a month ago.. so do not blame people for switching... I mean as I said I have not pushed anybody back in the queue but even if now people are pushing I think well they have waited a very long time so dropping them now to the back of the system and asking them to wait another month maybe would be a bit extreme especially when their money is frozen.

Just a thought. I think OCuk is fair in their dealings. It is not their fault that NV cannot keep up with the demand.

I can see both sides.

On the one hand because ocuk take your money on order it would seem mean that somebody who paid £600 on 27th May and then swaps a month later goes to the back fo the queue and has to wait another month.

On the other hand, somebody else waits a little while, reads reviews, see which cards are most likely to come in soonest and places an order for one of them and is 10th in the queue and stock due next day of 50, suddenly has 500 people swap over from another card and he is 510th and will be waiting a month. Perhaps he might not have ordered at all if he thought it was going to be a month instead of 2 days?

All other shops afaik put you to the back if you swap cards. But then again they don't have your money...............

Fairest way is probably to allocate some of the new stock for people who have swapped, and some for people who haven't, that way you can't be pushed to the back forever :)

True cause in theory if there are enough people getting fed up waiting on their cards, you might get pushed back months despite starting off in first place! Unlikely but could happen esp with 1000 pre orders on the Strix

I was ~190 at the start of the month for a Strix 1080, and ~120 yesterday. So it is slowly moving but at the same time this is incredibly frustrating. I'm especially disappointed that OCUK hasn't even emailed about any delays or stock issues - having to go to a forum is just lazy customer service.

The only reason I'm staying on and not cancelling and giving up with this generation is due to OCUK's generous motion to honour the original incorrect price of £619 instead of cancelling all pre-orders.
