Jesus no lol.

I'm flabbergasted...... He or she seriously believed that. And no doubt based with Vote On That shoddy piece of information.

Well true im not that knowlagable about business stuff like tax, the way i read this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value-added_tax_(United_Kingdom)#History

When i said that VAT was a EU thing (as in we switched to it in 1973) as in i mean it was from joining the EU, replacing what we used to have which was purchase tax.

On 1 January 1973 the UK joined the European Economic Community and as a consequence Purchase Tax was replaced by Value Added Tax on 1 April 1973

So i dunno if that is all correct but all i said was that being in the EU we were using VAT which was a EU thing. Now that we will be leaving i said we could adjust it like lower it a bit, based on someone elses post about something. I never said it would be removed or changed i just said it could. So why the hate on me for this i dunno.

Personally im not fussed about VAT just pointed out something about VAT to someone else thats all. And if i was wrong then sorry but i just remember reading about it not long ago so thought id post about it. So please no more unkind remarks about what i said ok. Stay on topic about the referendum.

Interesting that in the land of rejuvenated politics and enlightenment (according to SNP propaganda) the turnout was the 2nd worst out of the entire UK.

Sad to see a divided country and troubled times ahead. Time not to gloat but work together for whatever the future brings.

Not sure if serious?

You think trading algorithms are reacting to the negativity of the remain campaign, as opposed to what they factually stated would happen?

I imagine petrol will go up pretty sharpish since oil is traded in dollars.

Did wonder that but as most of it is tax it won't go up much, even if the £ halves.

OK so hands up whose job could be chaos today *raises hand*

Imagine what it'll be like on the market floor :s funds going to lose millions.

Yep. I work in IT but for an investment bank. It will be a long day (and my job could well go if they relocate due to the decision). Luckily I am currently on jury service so my day won't be long :)

It makes me laugh how people are commenting on the now 'failing' economy, what did you all expect to happen when a huge decision like this is made?

It's not really very surprising at all. It's how we move forward from here that matters.

I really hope theres further analysis if the Leave vote was in effect the anti-UK establishment vote - I think that is very much a significant underlying cause rather than actually directed at Brussels control.

ps3ud0
