Looking to upgrade the server I made to play media too so need a graphics card, but also wanting to play even just a few basic games.

The rig will only have an Athlon II X4 and 4gb and running at 1080p

Just having trouble with which card to go for, all of the new "budget cards" are horrendous for their price.

I'm only looking to spend maybe £25 - £30 and it needs to have HDMI with audio.

The best card I've found is probably a 560 but still finding they're £40 - £50.

Any other suggestions?

depending where you look, i purchased a sapphire 260x 1gb version for £20 about a week ago and seems to be a good card, i did also pick up a msi 750ti week prior for £50, but sold it hence the 260x, plenty of 5770's going about, it really depends what you mean by basic games as a hd 5450 can be had for £5 used and thats a 1gb or get a 1gb 210.

i cant say the name for some reason, but theres a lot of decent/good cards on gum for good/acceptable prices, get yourself on that. its where my 750ti and 260x came from.

Which motherboard do you have?

Will it take one of AMD APUs (Kaveri?)? They would have a similar'ish performance to an old card (it's basically a x260 or x270) and play some lower requirement games fine. Swapping the CPU could be an option. Should work out pretty cheap as well.
