General Headphone Audio

You going for one (or both) of the new super-consoles instead of a gaming PC then?

Even buying both would probably work out cheaper than getting a decent gaming PC, so should relieve some of the stress on your headphone buying funding. :D
 
I'll prob just get one. I'm waiting for the Playstation specs before making decision. I also need to get a 4K TV but luckily the new consoles release isn't until next summer so that's plenty of time to save.

I might even just settle on the LCD-2s because there's so much more exciting stuff and I'm a gamer not an audiophile so I'll prob just focus on that. God knows how much a good TV will cost my Sony TV is fantastic really low lag but it's 1080p. Also there's so many games coming out that new game called Days Gone looks incredible - that will satisfy my Zombie fanboyitis.

They are actually audio grade headphones with a mic slapped on and that is why they are so successful. I forget the headphones they are based on, but they are great value (until hyperX slap their branding and a mic on it and raise the price considerably) So now they are still good value as a headset but not as headphones.
 
On my desktop I have Sennheiser HD600 with a FiiO QOGIR and E17 for amplification.

For portable use I have a pair of Sennheiser Momentum (v1 over-ear).

I also have a pair of Sennheiser HD25 but don't find much use for them at the moment.

I bought the HD600 rather than the HD650 as I listen mainly to classical music and I am led to believe the HD600 are more suitable for than the HD650 for that.

Just treated my HD800's to a WA22 with all the upgrades. What a piece of kit!

I may not need to bother getting the HD800S' now, really happy with the setup as a whole now.
 
Arghh sadly I've messed my hearing up. Years of loud music will do that. Have not lost anything but my tinnitus has changed in tone and pitch and is more frequent and obvious and now in both ears. I'm someone who loves listening loud, I knew the possible risk and I don't regret it but my other hobbies are wildlife photography and tracking and tracking certain birds by sound would be difficult without my hearing!

I was actually planning on buying some more stuff but I feel that it's going to make things worse. I've got my Audeze headphones and retraining my ears to adjust to much lower volumes to see if the T stays stable.
 
That sucks big time - I'm amazed my hearing isn't totally shot at my age and so many years of loud music. I have very mild tinnitus and get occasional pain in my ears, which I consider as a subtle hint for some quiet time. :D
 
I think these TH-X00 are the best headphones I have heard.

The sound quality and the bass, is extremely good.

Still got mine too. Mine were £38 second hand, but that was 7 years ago now. I think they were £50 new at the time. Even at that they were great value. Better than Sennheiser HD555, which gradually increased in price from £40 to £90, whereas the DR150 came down. :D

Nice quality removable cable too. Nothing else had a removable cable for such a low amount of money. Shame they don't still make them any more.

I couldn't agree more, loving mine more and more :D Would love to compare them to some Audeze, or even the TH-900's, which are apparently better than the TH-X00.
