Is there a way to see how other players are doing mid-game?

Some toxic player on my team was being generally unpleasant, homophobic etc. Complained about everyone on the team.

Basically I was Pharah from the outset and at some point he must have swapped to her as well. When we lost the match and he was bitching at everyone, I pointed out it would have been more helpful if he had chosen a character that wasn't already in play. He then intimated that he became Pharah mid-game because I was rubbish.

I don't think there is a way of seeing how your team mates are doing. Just ignore the idiots!

I'm not sure if there's a way of removing the chat during a game as it's really annoying having to suffer fools like that.

Avoid this player doesn't do anything anymore.

They disabled the feature when they realised there was some problems with it like one of the best Widow players in the world had no one to play with because everyone avoided him .
