Listen we could argue or rather debate the whole thing for the next few years - I dont have many answers but whats done is done. I am optimistic about it (would have been either way). Basically Labour need to man up and the Tories need to get their **** together, form a plan and go for it.

Give it 20 years and I expect we can have another vote to rejoin

yes rejoin with none of the deals we cut over the last 40 years. Rejoin and take lower rebates, rejoin and have to take a single currency, rejoin and have to take schengen.

Quiting when you still have a seat at the table from which you could at least try and effect change is foolish at best and suicidal at worst. The UK are never going to rejoin the EU unless it is 100% on their terms if there is a next time.

There are reports coming out that Osborne is in china. Apparently the Chinese have pulled the plug on £80 billion of investments in the uk, also they have said that they are prepared to dump 100s of billions of uk bonds if he and the prime minister do not void the referendum result.

Either way, the mp is right, it is up to the pm to come up with a plan, and he has, he told us his plan already ;)
It isnt a very long plan, and it needs fleshed out a bit more, but it involves making leave cons sort the mess they have caused.

Indeed. Cameron has essentially said to Boris and Gove: "you brought this on , you deal with it".

Maybe it was all for show to force us into the project full speed?

;)

Great, so now the Chinese are telling us what to do as well. Some country we've turned into it.

What reports are these?

Good argument well said. So you don;t think the prime minister should have planned for an exit vote?

Of course not. How can he plan for an eventually completely against what he wants, the deals he's made, etc, etc.? How can he go to groups and say 'I know we've discussed deals before as EU members but now I want to discuss deals on the off chance that we don't retain our membership. That ok?'

He'd be laughed out of the room.

It's the prime ministers job to have a plan in place not the campaigners. Unfortunately there was over confidence and arrogance in a remain vote so now nothing was planned. We're in more of a mess than we should be in due to the uncertainty.

I believe it was also his job to remain impartial. His message should be that the government has a plan for both outcomes, like the bank of England etc should have done. I think that would have gone a long way towards preventing a crash.

We now have more control over our lawmaking and relationships with other countries, our leaders are more accountable, so chin up and let's make the most of that.

The prime minister did have a plan. By resigning he forced a leadership contest and through doing that there will be a general election. This vote will be completely dominated by the EU referendum.
