Brexit thread - what happens next

With inflation as low as it is, a fall in the pound is good news. It will make UK exports cheaper and boost economic growth. In fact, the treasury should sustain a lower value to the pound, by using more QE if needed. At no costs should the treasury tighten fiscally.

Everything you buy becomes more expensive. We have had a poor Balance of Payments for a while this could tip it into a crisis. Borrowing has to be serviced, less money =

If we still had a large manufacturing base then your argument would have merit, but we are a net importing economy so any currency devaluation has the effect of hurting us.

Popped back in to take a look...

As expected same old arguments from 3 months ago, with added denial.

Time to forget this thread.

Some nasty reports out there from the ... ahem, lowest of the low common denominators of the Leave campaign telling foreigners to leave the UK. It's kinda endearing to see the downtrodden 'scratc and sniff' armpit of poorest Britain full of sudden bravado.

Let's hope this thing works out exactly as they wanted it to.

Looking forward seeing what this coming week will bring.

Completely ignoring trade in the other direction?

We import a massive amount and lowering the value of the pound means we pay more for that.

The most obvious example round here being... computer hardware...

On the theme of laughing at it all:

Oh cry me a ****ing river, try some of the active victimisation that EU migrants have started suffering before wheeling your woe is me routine out, you've not got it bad

Way to get it ass about face.. the people feeling sorry for themselves are those acting like the world has ended..

And WTF? you bring in the fact a tiny minority of idiots have acted shamefully as justification for acting like an ass? classy..

Plus any existing borrowing becomes more expensive thanks to our naff credit rating. The rates government borrowing goes uo meaning the country has less money.

More scaremongering.... devaluing the pound means Britain has control remember!! It is totally not a way of raiding everybody's assets or savings, without them paying attention...........
