Brexit thread - what happens next

you won't get partial access either, the only partial access we can get is to the EEA/EFTA members i.e Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein and Switzerland who can hammer out their own deals. The other EU countries have their trade agreements settled en bloc i.e the single market. Which was one of the whole taking back control things that Borris et al kept on trying to spout off. So if we want to deal with them we have to deal with the EU, and as I said before you already know what that means.

This unicorn land where we get to cherry pick some partial access deal without having the burden of free movement is a complete fantasy. Yeah we can rock up to the table and ask for it, but the answer will always be no. If we want to deal with Europe we know how it is going to pan out.

and again negotiations haven't even begun so you've got no basis for this claim that we won't get partial access... I'll point out that I think whatever compromise we do reach(assuming things remain amicable) will likely involve EU citizens being able to move here very easily and vice versa but you're being incredibly short sighted especially given the statements already made by Germany

anyway we'll find out in the next few months... am more than happy to come back to this :)

They want to carry on trading with us and pretty much said so soon after the result - see the statements from Germany.

That twa* juncker is there leader and he hates us with a passion he won't make it easy. Really need to expose him before we do any negotiations.

So nice to work with racists, now the %%%%% can go home, so glad we won the vote. Got control of our border back.
And another one voted for 1 reason immigration.

Both went mental when I tried explaining single market and trade to them.

When were @@@@@ even from the Eu.

Not all leavers are racist but a large percent are and an even bigger percent have absolutely no idea what they voted for.

We're now sat here in silence.

There will be no 'hybrid arrangement'.

You think that we will have trade for most goods and services but not movement of labour.

Movement of labour is one of the core founding principles of the EU. It would rather have no trade with the UK if did not want free movement of labour.

You are living in a world where pigs fly if you think otherwise.

well wait and see.... like I said I'll be happy to revisit this

I think we'll end up in a hybrid scenario as long as things remain amicable and in that instance yes we could well negotiation some form of partial access and some sort of compromise on the current free movement situation that still allows easy movement between us and the EU but gives a bit more control than we currently have

Thought I'd join the site after looking at discussions regarding whats going on, btw yes I did vote out for many reasons such as the nut jobs such as Juncker President of the European Commission the fraud. If you know about his past he was force out lux as pm, he blames MI6 foe this, I think he holds a personal grudge against the UK . This is why he was quick to say the UK needs to get out now during Fridays press conference, throwing his toys out. He should be forced out of any important roles in the EU and I think some MEps and member states are starting to think he isn't the right man and should resign his position, the other way would be to sack the whole commission to get him out.

Juncker wants an EU army and is forcing it to go ahead, which causes a problem for NATO the US and UK. Anyway I feel that other EU nations will either ask for him to leave or start an exit from the EU.

Coming to Britain, Scotland would be refused into the EU by the EU, so there's no worry there, what N Ireland and Scotland are doing is to try and get as much out of the UK while its in political transition.

First post and it's all crap, well done.

I guess we live in a very racist country then? You must hate it. I'd recommend leaving.

he's not really the one pulling the strings at the end of the day and this is too important for Germany too

Pound plummeting, job insecurity, possible UK breakup, racist attacks, decimated government. I'm beginning to wonder whether it was all worth it.

I think the EU will purposely keep the banking licenses as the "holy grail" for which they require full freedom of movement for. Any limitations on free movement and they are off the table in a play to try and move things over to Frankfurt.

The basis of this claim alraedy exists, it's called the current EU legislation that while we have pulled out of, the other EU countries are still bound by. We will not be getting any cherry picked partial free trade deals with any EU members that doesn't come with free movement. you can argue to the contrary, but the fact here is that you are actually wrong in thinking that we will get some magical deal where free movement no longer is part of the deal. The only countries we can make that deal with are the EEA/EFTA members. if we want access to any of the other EU member states that deal is done en bloc and includes free movement. We can't just turn up at Merkels house for a beer and cut a deal circumventing the EU legislation because germany are simply not allowed to do that, and there is no deal on earth that will ever be permitted by the EU that will allow that to happen. you are basically betting on the EU scraping one of the founding core principles because......... oh thats right, because we are the UK.

I am not going to repsond further because you simply don't get the politics involved in what you are saying and what the end result for the EU would be if they ever allowed it. I hope you enjoy the view from your rose tinted glasses.

Having watched lots of videos interviews with those who voted leave - I am POSITIVE that they should been thrown out of the country!

Having watched video`s of those voting remain - they need to be spanked and told to grown the **** up - having a temper tantrum because of democratic process? get ****ing real

If only Jean Claude Juncker were here, I'd lie in his arms and feel safe in his warm yet powerful masculine European embrace.
