How will Brexit affect you and your family personally?

Exactly my old boss is griping cause his raw materials have gone up 10% already and he might not earn £1m this year and he might "lose" £250K.

He might have to think twice about ordering the new Lambourghini if things dont change.

So yeah, its all relative.

Without flipping it round to a brexit debate, which way did you vote Greebo?

My dads job is as a driver for an agency that specialises in migrant workers. He is the transport service that takes them too and from all their jobs. His wage relies on them being here.

He voted leave.

The mind boggles.

Perhaps, just perhaps he was thinking about what was best for the country rather than himself? Something to think about before a possible argument.

Anyway he might find a lucrative job transporting migrants over the border :p

Personally I don't know, no one does really. This wasn't a right / wrong referendum question and there was no guarantee that things would be all rosy if we stayed in.

Immediately, some of my material costs have gone up. Long term who knows, not a lot would be my guess.

Remain. Was blowing both ways for ages but overall cause of where I live which gets nothing from down south but does from the EU and the affect it would have on the economy having being badly affected for 7 years of recession i went remain in the end.

As it was I think where I live ended up being the second biggest leave vote in the country.

Just dont get it. Except perhaps racism is rife here. Even prior to this vote it is very common to hear people say they dont want darkies moving in here and carpet heads. They are all rapists apparently

Short term some investments are worth less but they will recover.

Long term, the odd thing i buy from europe may be a bit mroe expensive but I'll probbaly mitigate that bg jist bothering to find it in the uk.

Still pay deal kicked in this month so got a raise of 2.5% for this year

No real change for me personally. Like others, a short term hit to pension and other investments. European motorcycle trips might need a bit more arranging if there isn't free movement, but not huge. Too many unknowns for the moment.

At the moment my investments are up, minor loss to my S&S ISAs, small gain to pensions for some reason, big gains to Bitcoins.

I voted out, as how it affects my family no idea

Holidays well i havent been on one for over 15 years, Shares dont own any, Morgate dont have one, Pension dont have one, Savings Nope none of those, I live month to month on just over minimum wage working in excess of 240-300 hours a month as a security guard.

Basically the economy tanking wont really affect you when your Zero hour on Minimum wage.

So all these buisiness leaders who are crying I say cry harder

My wife is in real danger of losing her job - European division of a US company who would happily move to an EU country to protect their contracts and income.

If the above does happen then she could quite easily get another job but it would probably mean worse pay and more rigid hours so we'll need some wraparound childcare therefore we won't be buying a house any time soon.

All things considered, moving to Scotland looks very appealing even if they don't leave the UK; the housing is much cheaper for most regions and my pay would be slightly better if I can get the same job there.

Construction?

Yep (well architecture). We are ok though for now, we had nothing in the EU at all but a lot of good friends projects were heavily EU funded. In truth its only really started to actually come out from 2008

How are you living month to month on £1920-£2400 a month? (£23,040 - £28,800 PA, assuming you're >24 and earning 10% ish above min)

That's a pretty good wage, average to above average.

It's actually about half the average in Aberdeen. Aberdeen even now isn't a cheap place to live, though things have improved somewhat (think £1k a month for a 2bed flat).

I posted in the main thread thread that major housebuilder's shares took a massive hit yesterday so we can't be sure for how what projects will go ahear. Same with other projects/clients who might go on hold until they know better. I reckon it will be like that until a way forward is decided. Thankfully I've got a few projects at the moment from other clients that will keep me (and others) busy till the new year at least.

Seems a lot cheaper than here. There's 1 bed flats from £70k. That would only be £420 on a 20y mortgage.
