While I can kind of see his point if he had got to the point where he was its also a bit of a tricky one for the delivery driver as he'd have just pulled a large vehicle off another road - no excuse for not getting out the way for emergency services however.

Cheers for that... I dont get why people are of the opinion that the BMW driver is in the wrong here. Yes, it may say "priority over oncoming traffic" on the delivery driver side but that doesnt mean to traffic that is already coming through the tunnel.

The delivery driver is in the wrong IMHO. He has taken the sign to absurd levels... Does the driver honestly believe that, because the sign says he has priority, that extends to having people reverse back through a tunnel they are already exiting?!? :confused:

Take the ambulance side of things away as this just creates bias as a lot of people just take their side and just adds hyperbole to the article. The crux of the matter is: BMW driver was already through the tunnel and Delivery Driver was an arse.

Bear in mind the BMW driver has cars behind him as well so cant just reverse.
 
This is what happens when two stubborn self-absorbed idiots collide!
Also I'm not buying the 'claim' the old git cannot reverse, he deliberately made a hash of that reverse to try and give credibility to his claim. If he was honestly that bad at reversing his nice big shinny Merc would have been covered in dings and scratch's!

Police/traffic wardens should be able to ticket the pair of them on the spot if any road has been blocked for more time than it was reasonable to get either to move and unblock the road. No point in stupid petty arguments like that, and a substantial ticket fine would make people think faster.

Police were eventually called to the scene and asked both drivers to move from the area, freeing up the spot. Within minutes, a white saloon had parked in the space

How come the woman wasn't nicked for dangerous driving? She drove down the pavement FFS! Why was the innocent party also treated as if he'd done something wrong? Just further goes to prove how inept some of our police forces really are?
