Zlatan almost done.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic should complete his long-anticipated move to Manchester United by the end of the week.

The Swedish striker, 34, is a free agent after leaving Paris St-Germain and is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Old Trafford club.

He will become the second signing for United boss Jose Mourinho, who replaced Louis van Gaal as manager in May.

Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly, 22, has already completed a £30m move to United from Spanish side Villarreal.

United have also made an improved offer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 27, and are now waiting for his German club, Borussia Dortmund, to make a decision on the Armenian playmaker's future.

I think Mourinho's first press conference is on Tuesday. Giggs is on ITV tomorrow night and may confirm he's leaving the club, too.

Man United, the place once great players go to collect a pension. It's like when they ease an old person into retirement. Go spend a season at United on 500k per week before going to china or america. Ronaldo will be back when he's 42.

Martial, Memphis and Bailly are all near retirement?

We've agreed a £4m fee/compensation with Watford for Jerome Sinclair.

With Watford having the same owners as Udinese there had been talk that the Sinclair situation was proving to be a stumbling block in our attempts to sign Zielinski from Udinese.

In other news Palace (and West Ham) are being linked with Benteke after missing out on that Belgium lad that's going to Chelsea. We're reportedly demanding no less than £30m for him.

Oddly bookies have all slashed our odds on getting Depay from UTD, Really not sure why or if there is any credible link i cant find one.

I can only assume its cause UTD want rid and we did try sign him before they did.

I was reading that yesterday - not sure there is anything actually in it (but JM has got history of selling to local rivals in the past, like Cech for example while at Chelsea)

Would certainly be an interesting signing, from both a relationship and squad point of view.. We bought Firmino instead of Depay, however Depay is best deployed as a LF, whereas Firmino seems best as a second striker, or even up top.

-------------------- Sturridge/Firmino
Depay ------------- Firmino/Coutinho ----------- Mane

Something like that maybe? Seems like a complete non starter anyway.

Finally confirmed it

nearly had heart failure when the first site said it was a 5 year contract (and while I know Utd like throwing money around sometimes, that would be a little extreme )

Think its safe to say its only 1 year - with a possibility of a 2nd

Just praying to god he doesnt end up like Falcao

Hope he's still got some magic left, unlike Falcao (in fairness they're different situations).

Exciting to see him in the PL though, as long as his finishing hasn't gone down the drain, I can see him being dangerous with the right service.

It will be interesting to see how he adapts. He's had it relatively easy for the last 6 years playing in Italy and France.

Multiple places including Di Marzio saying that Mkhitaryan to United is also done.

Excellent. This could be one of the best deals we've done in recent memory, if he performs as he can...

Summer so far:

Mourinho
Bailly
Zlatan
Mkhitaryan

Better than the past few years, where it's been a complete mess with no direction.

Rumours we're going all out for Pogba too, but I think we'll lose out to Real Madrid. I think we really need someone in that role, to get the ball forward properly and keep the team ticking.

Lukaku and Morata would be good signings then we'd have Ibra/Rashford and one other striker, Rooney behind the striker or in holding midfield as a box 2 box player.
