Farage

Was that directly in regards to him being surprised at not being a negotiator though (source if so pls as I'm interested) or a general comment on being sidelined?

I don't know what he was thinking if he assumed they'd want him involved.

Not sure, everywhere reported it as this

The now fuming Ukip leader discovered he will not sit on the cross-party team which will negotiate Britain’s exit from the EU, reports The Telegraph.

But Farage vowed he would use his position as head of the party in the European Parliament to ensure his opinion is heard during Britain’s breakup from the union.

SO i presume he thought he was going to negotiate.??

Don't often see "LibDems" and "real politics" used in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence.

They did work with the Tories in the coalition government. Hence the memo. The Conservatives were never his allies, and referendum alliances particularly almost never result in anything meaningful later. But I guess he couldn't help but dream big, it's all he seems to ever do regarding his prospective Westminster career.;)

meh, its far to easy to hate on farage in our over hyped nanny state.

most of the time his views have always been logical.

hes always delivered humour.

hes always interviewed well.

hes always been charismatic and quite... ordinary?

more importantly, he has always said what he believes in. thats why he has the following he has and why he has gone from strength to strength recently.

there are many at the HOC (and EU parliament) who could take a leaf out of his book.

of courses hes played the idiot at times, but hell, he has injected a bit of life and fun into the pathetic state of our nations political ways.

The hurt is strong in here still I see... A guy who gives his political life to the single aim and despite all the media and people in here calling him a racist, bigot and a thousand other names... He achieved the single biggest upset in modern political history. He won against all the big players because the people were fed up.

Good on him. Hope he has a well deserved rest :)

sure and he's made quite valid criticism of the EU in a very blunt (and amusing) manner... but he's no diplomat and has no place in a negotiation

I much prefer Daniel Hannan. He has come across really well in all of this and does seem to talk sense.

Farage didn't achieve anything - he wasn't even part of the official leave campaign

He nearly scuppered their chances a couple of times, they won despite his actions

I think you know that isn't true, directly or indirectly, he's carried much of the campaign to get us out of the EU.

That poster of Farages nearly ruined their campaign at the last minute
Even his only MP said it was a terrible choice, and on QT just now pretty much admitted that he would rather not be working under him.

I attribute the leave campaigns overall success to Boris Johnson putting a Happy Faux Churchillian face on it, it wouldn't have won without him

I'm not a huge fan of Farage and I can understand why he isn't for everyone but can people please post evidence of him being a racist. I realise that the 'racist moron' element in the country do tend gravitate to UKIP and right wing politics etc but I wouldn't say he encourages or approves this in any way and can't really be blamed for it. He doesnt strike me as someone who likes violence or hatred tbh. David Cameron pledged to cut net migration to sub 100,000 which he utterly failed at and wasn't considered a racist... I think sub 100,000 net annual migration would be a number Farage would be comfortable with so I don't see why that makes him a racist tbh.

Yeah, by lying. Good on him for that!
