Brexit thread - what happens next

Why are countries like Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, et al, not being labeled as racist for having border controls, yet when people living in the UK want the same thing they are painted as racists? It's just sensible policy. What's happening in Southern Europe and how it's being handled by the EU should be setting off alarm bells.

Racists are being painted as racists, because they are racists.

People who are capable of talking about border controls without being racists about it don't get painted as racists.

Australia is one of the most racist countries in the world.............

Among the 12,512 people surveyed Australia-wide, 48.6 per cent were negative towards Muslims, Asians (23.8), indigenous Australians (27.9), Jews (23.3) and black Africans (27).

So racist people are allowed in this forum yet if u call someone a name u are banned etc.

I don't get it? In the real world u can be prosecuted for being racist.

I am shocked if true that ocuk allows racism here

Its not allowed, people are just saying a lot of leave voters, not all, are a bit racist and purely voted on a "they toook ur jooobs" basis. Its just escalated. :)

Concern about the low-wage labour market is racist? Yes, people will have voted leave because of foreign labour lowering the chances of employment in certain areas of the country, but why is that racist?
 
For all the cheer leaders of the EU who have smugly stated that the 'losers' need to re-train, get a better education, relocate or whatever. This is happening to you now, adapt or die. Suck it up.

I was speaking to my Bangladeshi acquaintance at my local off license (how terribly lower class!) about Brexit, his prices may go up but the most important thing is that we all need to work hard and take advantage of the opportunities.

He didn't cry about how is future had been taken away.

Concerns about freedom of movement only to suit big business is not racist, it is a shame that it appears Hannan suggest that is what we will get after a brexit.

Of course we don't allow racism. If you see ANY instance of racism report it with the RTM button and the poster will be dealt with.

This they took our jerbs phrase is becoming so pathetic. There was someone on TV the other day saying the owner of a bus company has Polish people lined up if any English person disputes pay rises. The owner will happily get rid of them for lower pay. Does that mean this is all lies and they're racists?

Heh reminds me of my first job at Dominos Pizza, if anyone ever moaned about something they would literally wave a wad of CVs in their face and say they can have somebody else take their place the same day.

No, the british empire was built on enforced labour, far far worse and in although there was some cheap contract labour, its a completely different scenario I think.
