Brexit thread - what happens next

I must say that I am starting to come to the conclusion that leave voters don't want another vote as they are certain they would lose this time.

Anyway, I don't think there should be another referendum. That's over and done with.

Anyway, hopefully if MPs take note of this professors letter he sent there won't be any need for one anyway

And in other news it amazes now the hatred by leavers for any company saying the might have to leave the uk like easy jet. They have valid reasons relating to airspace yet already there are 128k leave voters ranting on social media that they have had billions from us and now they are leaving cause of the vote and they should be boycotted and are demanding that any company which leaves the uk cannot trade again with the U.K. The place has gone mad.

The democratic process has already taken place, your point is?

Please do enlighten me as am intrigued. ;)

Democratic process is an ongoing thing. This is the part you seem to know be struggling with.

For you democratic process seems to begin and end at you've got what you personally want and that's it.

On top of that, as has been said such a narrow margin should never be counted as a majority. You simply don't care about the margin and how it relates to the population because the result is the one you wanted.

On such an important matter the difference between minority and majority needs to be more than academic. It's like you think this is some sort of game with how flippant you are about this situation. It just demonstrateseems just how little understanding you've got of this situation.

The democratic process has taken place, and will continue to take place.

I can understand why the winning side would not want another referendum. What I can't understand is why anyone would want to go through with something regardless of how bad the consequences are, as the consequences become more apparent.

It's unfortunately the result of a large amount of stupid people thinking that their opinions hold equal weight to everyone else. They start foaming at the mouth about stuff they don't understand and won't hear anything that doesn't agree with their stance.

Apparently Boris accuses the government of creating 'Diana style hysteria' over Brexit in today's telegraph and that perfectly sums up a lot of the remain contributers in this thread.

Pure hysteria.

Edit - link above lol

Regarding all the racist signed etc.. I was thinking the remain camp would be crazy enough to do it and blame the leave camp at this rate.

It was democratic having the vote. Of which has been counted!

Is it still being argued that it was democratic to have had a vote result procured on a pack of lies? I bet if we had the same referendum again the vote would be completely different and those arguing for us to leave the EU so intently wouldn't entertain it.

Boris has also taken shelter in his employer's columns after running away from holding any responsibility for this situation to lay out his plan for Brexit, which consists of five points which don't form a plan - exactly what he did when fronting the Leave campaign, making stuff up that might happen one day and trying to pass it off as coherent.

The man is an embarrassment and needs to know when to shut up about this. If he is concerned about hysteria then he could have gone a long way to quelling that by not disappearing from Friday until Thursday.

Problem is all the thing Bojo is demanding/saying should be done doesn't fit any of the candidates for pm. Cameron is in no position to promise eu citizens already here won't be kicked out as that isn't his choice, it's the next pm choice and some of them have left that option on the table. If only there had been somebody standing for the leadership who thought the same approach..............

Lol if Remain had won you could argue the same thing :D
