Sir John Chilcot Iraq War Inquiry

I can't watch video as phone wont play embedded YT clips and I am reluctant to chunk data allowance up when I need it for typing lol

Edit: Just watch. I get what you are saying. I am just saying the invasion was justified. I can't actually go against Hitchens as he is someone I respect and his opinion I value. I take issue with some of what he says mind eg with his views on Halabja, there was more to it.

You do know the reasons Saddam invaded Kuwait don't you?

Just a year or two earlier Saddam was pally with all western powers

this will be interesting, the whole chemical weapons farce was a disgrace.

Blair will get away scott free I'm sure.

Blair wouldn't be looking so relaxed on the TV if he didn't already know this. If anyone thinks this will be anything other than a redacted whitewash they are kidding themselves.

The cynic in me says that BREXIT was engineerd to deflect away from the findings of the Chilcot enquiry and so nothing much will happen...

Let me guess, the hard left will want Blair strung up by his balls and the rest of us will shrug our shoulders and get on with life.... But expect a lot of hot air for a week or so. ;)

this whole enquiry has been a massive waste of tax payers money.

I don't think the families that lost soldiers will get any answers. The public in general likely don't give a crap, and the Corbynistas just want some ammunition to smash the blairites.

They should have just done a celebrity deathmatch episode of Blair v Corbyn and be done with it.

Nothing's coming from it. Everyone involved has/can retire or move to consulting roles on a nice wedge. Dead Iraqi civilians and British soldiers are still going to be dead

Waste of time and money

That it may well be. I just hope there is evidence in there that can be brought to bear on some form of symposium that Blair should face a charge of something... How did we manage to get charges against Milosovic et al?

I heard it would be the report and a summary.

To think about it I just want the findings to detail:

1) the public and parliament were lied to
2) other politicians and their affiliates were helping spin the lies (including the Murdoch press)
3) there is enough in there to take this forward with some form of charge

I am also awaiting the killings of Tony Blair too.

I think it's telling that Blair ran away to become none other than a "Peace" envoy for the UN in the very area he's destroyed.

So either he's actually just Bush's Bitch, and didn't actually want involvement, thus trying to fix it "somehow"... or he's returned to the scene of the crime to a fake job that his administration was so well known for creating in the Civil service.

Hmm.
