Hi, I think the times come to upgrade my memory, can someone recommend something to go in my P6T as I'm slightly confused as to what will work.

Currently have 3 x 2gb

Thanks!

The only other option would be to put another 3 x 2GB in, I believe your motherboard supports up to 12GB so by getting another 3 x 2GB it will total 12GB of triple channel configuration.

The P6T supports up to 24GB RAM. Another 6GB will give you 12GB, which should be enough.

Triple channel kits are no longer available, so you'd be looking at getting a dual channel kit and a single stick.

Maybe it's time to just give your rig a revamp entirely or build a new one?

Yeah I have been thinking about a whole new rig, I've had this setup a while now so feel like I got my moneys worth. I was just wondering if it was worth eeking a little more out of it.:D

Yeah it takes 24Gb, would I see a decent improvement if I went up to 12? I take it that 2 sticks are no good and that it's best to go with 3?
It's been quite a while since I've had to read up on all this, I had long ago forgotten all the details from when I set it up.

I'm not really sure about X58. Depending on the slot config (read the manual) 5 sticks will work just fine.

12GB will be more than enough for what you need, but I'm not sure about the availability of 2GB sticks.

Thanks, I definitely have some options to think about now. Although looking at new hardware I could see myself building a new rig towards the end of the year.
