EVGA sell some cards on their website and it's announced on Twitter when they do that. Last time they had FTW 1080, it was a couple days ago and they were sold out in 9 minutes. Not sure how many they had though. It does look like half the world wants an FTW 1080 ...
I contacted Gigabyte directly and they can't even provide an approximate timescale for the standard in the UK...

I was 135th on the 17th of June and went down to 80th on the 28th. So many people cancelled their FTW because of delays so I'm staying strong!
I wish you didn't do this. Thought I'd watch some of this series while waiting for my card and you post this spoiler. I'm only a few episodes from being up to date.

I for one am only sticking with my FTW because I'd lose money by switching brands.
This is the first EVGA card I've ever attempted to buy and after watching the US get looked after first, and then abysmal attention paid to Europe when they did decide to humour us, I won't be getting another from them.
I should have stuck with MSI like I have done for years.
