What? The markets have priced in an 80% certainty of a rate reduction at the next BOE Monetary Policy meeting

Cheers all. Fox - the reason I got a 5yr fixed rate deal was because A) it was cheaper B) if I don't get a deal I'll pay more on variable until I do and C) every time I bet I could make money by cashing out but don't and lose it all. These mortgage deals could be removed at any time. I don't want another England or Germany! Lol

Just because the BoE reduce interest rates doesn't mean they'll be passed on to mortgages.

No, but it does suggest that it's completely ridiculous to claim 'the only way interest rates can go is up '.

It's clearly not true, is it? There are actually two ways they can go, not only one. And it's probably more likely they'll go down than up.

You should be shouting from the rafters, it's one of the few benefits for some people of the Brexit mess :p

Lol I also bet on a leave vote so made money that way lol.

And I can remember the trouble my parents had with their mortgage in the 80s! I remember the struggle due to interest rates.

Wtf agency work are you doing? :D

Congrats though! Being jobless is rather boring.

Offshore finance for Conservatives. ;) lol

Cheers, it's in planning. I know the agency director from previous job and she recommended me for it (stating how excellent I was - they expect me to run planning after my 2nd week!! lol). I have to wear a shirt and trousers to work - never worn a shirt in work! :D I feel all grown up! :D

Being jobless is incredibly boring as I hate doing nothing! Especially when Jeremy Kyle is becoming part of the day routine and an inspiration lol.....

BRexit hasn't had a negative impact on me for now but I expect as we get closer to officially leaving that interest rates will go up which is why I've tied in for 5yrs. Keep the stability just in case.

True. Wasn't many years ago the forum was far right, borderline racist.

And its got just as many who are full of hot air and fall into the majority that didn't bother to vote but moan about the result. ;)

"think of our kids future" - 75% of 18-25yrs vote to remain however only 36% of 18-25yrs could be bothered to get off their bone-idle butt to vote!

;):p

I'd be genuinely amazed if there are more than a handful, if any at all, of the active posters in this thread who didn't vote.

You mean they left the house? ;) Oh.. no... you can do postal vote now! But that requires you to leave the house. Most are allegic to the sun. :p lol

I'm sure most voted but it irritates that the biggest complaint was backed up by a lot of hot air as the main group moaning didn't bother.... so their point is!?

I don't really understand your point. Those in the 'main group moaning' that are 'moaning' almost certainly voted.

Yes, a high proportion of people didn't bother to vote. But I suspect you won't find those who couldn't even be bothered to vote putting time and effort into discussing the result at length, so what is your point?
