Misogyny

I have no problem with this move, does not really change anything but gives an excuse for the force to investigate heavy handed advances and then make an appropriate judgement on whether it is harassment or not. There are no new laws, no new restrictions for men, no new opportunities for women to abuse, it only seems like an introduction of procedure to treat harassment complaints and their like. If women try to abuse it and accuse someone of x or y, it gets investigated and found she is lying, i am sure it comes with its own repercussions.

The media likes to present this change as 'if you hit on women unsuccessfully, you will be done for a hate crime', which is simply not true.

It's one of those subjects that has so much spin and misinformation that it's difficult to know whose data to trust.

This is the crux of it all for me, and why I can't take it seriously. Plus there's the whole "what is wolf whistling" thing which clouds it all too. To me, a builder having a little wolf whistle at an attractive woman walking past is fine. If she can't handle it then that's her problem. However, when things go beyond that, for example the builder follows her around the corner or something, that's harrassment and should be dealt with as such.

In my eyes a bit of innocent fun should be fine.

Why is it always the howlers who make the biggest issues about feminism?

All they need is some purple hair dye and a tumblr page.

(Please don't arrest me)

If it's not harassment then you'll be fine. Now whistle and show 'em your bum Bob.

But sadly legally speaking a big part of harassment is based on how a person feels about it. Eg I could send 2 texts to my ex and in theory if she didn't like them I would have a PIN issued by old bill

My understanding is that there's still large disparity at board level between male and female pay, but that females under 35 are better paid than males, on average.

A couple of economist links for you.

This one points out that men (on average) earn more than women - BUT it largely around the fact than there are generally more men in senior roles. First paragraph:

ON AVERAGE women earn 18% less than men, according to analysis by Korn Ferry Hay Group, a consulting firm which looked at more than 8m employees in 33 countries. The pay gap is largely explained by a lack of women in highly paid roles. Women make up 40% of the global workforce for clerical jobs but only 17% of executive roles. However, the pay gap shrinks when comparing males and females working at an identical level and function within the same company (but still favours men by 1.6%)

Going forwards, especially as jobs are going to rely more and more on brainpower, women have the advantage because they work harder in school. See this article.

Boys are being outclassed by girls at both school and university, and the gap is widening

pointless stupid article

Speaking of sensitive, I really do not understand where we're trying to go or mould all this... It always feels like what is the next thing we can lock down, silence or stop. It is like watching bored people with very little to do.

Sometimes it makes me think you're not allowed feelings, you're not allowed to think. You're just not allowed unless it goes with the flow. Then that could be all wrong tomorrow.

Thankfully I already own a female companion so I feel no need to converse with other members of the female population. Luckily I work in engineering so there's no danger of having female colleagues to potentially harass.

Welcome to the world of Theresa MAY.........................

How petty. Women do this crap just as much as men. I've lost count of the number times I've had my arse slapped and stuff like that on nights out in Nottingham, and I guarantee I'd get laughed at if I tried to have them done for sexual assault...

You know what they say eh...

Man talks dirty to a woman = sexual harassment
Woman talks dirty to a man = £1.50 per minute

Correct. Its only in the older work force that you get men paid more.

Of course, taking several years out for children makes a big difference to a woman's career and how much she will be earning at 40 compared to somebody who never had time off for kids.

I have seen it claimed that this should not be the case and a woman of 40 should be paid the same as a man of 40 even if she has 10 years less experience.

Ignoring that is based on sex, it therefore follows that all employees should be paid exactly the same money irrelevant of experience and skills but purely based on how old they are.

Ridiculous.

And yes, because of pushes like this and campaigns, women under 35 are paid more than men on average. Where's the fairness in that? I demand equal pay for under 35 men NOW.

And today i heard Theresa May is going to give a huge number of cabinet jobs to women including most of the top jobs.

Since she is drawing from a smaller pool of MPs (less women in the Tories than men) 68 vs 263 - the lowest ratio of any party, isnt she running the risk of giving a woman a cabinet place not because she is the best person to do the job, but because she is a woman?

Thats why i hate these forced number things, there is nothing wrong with giving the best person the job. Full stop.

You know what, the more I see of women whining about such issues the more I start to hate them. In the past five years this sentiment has grown. Blokes getting banged up over trivial nonsense, family courts screwing guys over, the double standards constantly.

I never thought this way before. It's a growing resentment caused by actions of the few trying to create the opposite effect.

My better half is also sick of said women and feels they are actually making things worse for her.

Maybe I can refuse to have a woman boss because you know....gender pay gap.

Actually had one situation where a woman demanded I talk to her. "It's my right!!! I cannot be ignored...equality". No my dear, followed by a big FO.
