3DMark brand new DX12 benchmark "Time Spy"

It's going to be interesting to see how they want to take advantage of better multithreading. For example, in firestrike you have that combined test that really stresses your cpu, and is very well multithreaded. But that's just a single test that don't affect graphics core by itself.

My quess is that we still won't see much difference in normal graphics tests between cpu's even with better multithreading, as it would take too much weight of from gpu's (and this is gpu benchmark to begin with).

Interesting to see.

It looks like it's getting over 20fps which is too much. A decent benchmark should be getting 20fps with 4 of the latest cards. Not 20fps with a single card which isn't even top of the line. When big Pascal comes out you are going to be getting nearly 60fps with 2 of them which is no good.

You seem to be forgetting the vast majority of set ups which don't involve multiple £600 GPUs and which will all be scoring 1fps in your dream benchmark, making any useful comparison impossible.

Justa quick run with desktop apps running. Almost gets a score of 4000 on this old 290. It seems to struggle a bit, but performs better than firestrike ultra for sure. 20-25 fps in the gfx tests and 17 in the cpu test.

Of course they have decided to charge an upgrade fee of £3.49 if you want the Time spy stress test and the ability to set specific options for a custom run.
