Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo fan

Hi, I keep getting a random message saying that `CPU fan is not working correctly and to shutdown the PC`althought the fan`s spinning and the temps are good. I`m going to replace it, can I use any 120mm fan? the fan has a 4pin connector which plugs into the 4pin cpu fan header on the mobo. Can you recomend which one to get.

It may be that the bios is reporting the fan running to slow but if you want to heres is a video ahowing how to do it.

Thanks for replying, I just got the warning popup again. I don`t know what program`s generating it, I did these screen shots when it happened. The PC had been running for about 20mins, this happens maybe once or twice a day.

Can you not just set the bios to ignore fan speed?

Not sure I have the option to do that Lewisraz, unless I turn off Q-Fan control or cool`n`quiet in the BIOS. I can`t find any more fan settings.
The MB is Asus M5A97 evo r2.0

Have you tried changing the value for "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" to see if it helps?

No I haven`t should I make it higher ?
Just looked and it wont go any higher than 600, just lower from 600 down to 100, so I set it to ignore.
