Is vodafone generally terrible for coverage?

My signal is just afwul, it cant hold a 3g/4g signal if i move about anywhere, texts and calls often dont come through and if i make a call my sognal suddenly drops and it becomes impossible, ive put up with it for ages but just wondering what i can do? Its not just at home, its at work and generally everywhere i go really.

I got the contract in may 2015 so maybe i can leave but its probably too soon. Pay around 45 a month and it just isnt worth it for how much i can actually use it reliably! Whos better these days?

Mine started great at 1st then went awful at home ... Ive had lots of texts stating work is been carried out on your mast blah blah signal goes ok for few weeks then boom back to 1 bar if lucky. If I walk 2mins away from home 4 bars LTE

Very fast when when I can get full coverage 70+ down 35+

Did they offer you there "Sure Signal" £70 they did me and you can imagine my answer ;)

I've had a handful of previous occasions where my Phone wouldn't ring and then call catcher would then text to inform me I'd missed a call from so and so...

When I complained I was informed I could purchase Sure Signal, I didn't bother...

Other than that it's been fine *touch wood*

I guess all Networks have their ups and downs.

Vodafone, generally is really good in my area and the surrounding areas I visit, but usually when I leave the county and go elsewhere in the big wide country I find it pretty dodgy.

Hit and miss for me. Generally fine. I tend to struggle more with mobile data speeds. Notably between Leek and Derby, you will struggle to do any web browsing.

There is one large village I pass through regularly which is a black spot and has been since when I was about 9 years old as I remember my father always commenting on it when driving through. That's 17 years ago.

I changed to Giff Gaff (O2) a year or so ago because for me Vodafone was pretty much great or nothing in terms of data speed.

I travelled up and down the East Coast Mainline a lot and would be desperately catching up on all internet based activity at every station as outside of towns it was unusable.

Unfortunately I can't compare the Giff Gaff performance as I changed jobs so don't do that journey any more, but certainly, from general travelling around, Giff Gaff seem to provide more consistent performance.

The only place I struggled getting any data coverage was in Bakewell Derbyshire (couldn't get 3 or 4g). Display flagged up E in the data segment. Even then it didn't work.

Like all they vary. In my house I get a good 4g signal but signal for voice calls (3g, e) is useless. I end up missing a lot of calls. Outside it's OK. I now have one of their Sure Signals which helps with calls. Overall it's getting better in North Yorkshire. The others are no better and for 4G are worse (here). Go another 5 miles down the road and EE can be better. That's living in the country for you. Always a good idea the check coverage where you use your phone with a payg sim before signing up for 2 years.

Voda fast 3g/4g coverage is very inconsistent.

There phone/text coverage is excellent, 2G everywhere. Shame make calls and SMS texts are like the smallest use for my phone!

I've tried all of the major networks recently and Three and EE were by far the best for fast 3g/4g coverage.

I can find places where there is no signal at all - but then out in countryside it's same for all networks. Vodafone is improving but I still find my phone stuck on 2G when I need a data  Vodafone 4G is good where it's good and well, rubbish when it's bad.

You could give them a ring and tell them your problems. Your paying for a service your not being provided.

You could lower your tariff and then cancel? Maybe they will do you a deal with you having problems?

Quite frankly, I'd rather stick a fork in my eye. Like they'll be remotely interested. This is Vodafone we're talking about.

I took a sim only 12 month contract out with them end of January. It was taken out at sale price and long story short they're charging me full price. Called in at local Vodafone store and asked why and if an oversight then could it be sorted. I didn't take my original doc with me but presumed it would all be on computer. No such luck. If I couldn't find my paperwork they would have to send to the warehouse to get their copy before they could do anything ...... seriously

In fairness their network isn't bad considering we're rural. EE and Three aren't great and neither have 4G here. EE have good 3G on local mast but not upgraded to 4G. Maybe going 800mhz on it as it's rural? I'll try EE payg end of year to see how they fair and maybe swap. That said I'd have to have an EE phone that supported their 800mhz - I'm led to believe? Vodafone seem all or nothing with data. Can still have a strong 3G sig with them and yet data does not move. Had that urban as well as rural.

Any issues with vodafone, use the CEO email adress. The exec support team is literally brilliant.

They have consistent 2G signal in the lakes whereas EE have patches of 3G and 4G. O2 and 3 plain and simple don't exist. For safety Vodafone wins. But it mostly depends on your area.
