**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Seem to have the same problem since the new android - the battery just died. Was looking at replacements but can't find anything decent with good reviews.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Does the anker battery have NFC too? (and does it support wireless charging if I get the adapter?)
I might also go for it.

Yep, the battery has the NFC Coil. No wireless charging built in. You can get a wireless module, but if you do make sure you get one with an NFC coil built in as the ones without NFC can interfere with the NFC coil in the battery.

Also, I've e-mailed local Samsung Repair Centre whilst at work and got this reply:

"Hi,
We currently don’t have any in stock.
We should have them in next week.
They cost £25

So I guess you can pick a genuine one from Samsung for £25 at your local Samsung store/repair centre.

Ponied up the dough for a replacement Anker battery to replace my 19 month old original Samsung one.
So far, so good. Came off charge 11pm last night & 13 hours later with a bit of Web browsing, texts, WhatsApp & emails I'm currently on 80%.

I wonder why these batteries are failing so much on the Note 4. My OH's Note 3 is 2.5 hrs old and still going strong on the original battery.

Heat? especially if you take the limits off the camera and/or disengage the throttling controls (which for some reason some people think is a good idea on a phone that already gets very warm in normal use) you can build up a ton of heat between the battery and screen on the Note 4.

My old battery wasn't failing as such, I still got at least 24 hours out of it regardless of what I used the phone for, but when it was new I could go 2 days without charging.

The Anker battery on it's first charge gave me 25 hours & I was down to 50%.
Admittedly, I didn't use the phone for any TV or video yesterday only e-mails, web browsing, texts etc, but there was still nearly 3 hours of screen time in there.

Bit of a weird one....am trying to get rid of all the bloat that came with the MM update and am having particular trouble getting rid of com.facebook.appmanager

Everytime I tell it to uninstall the phone reboots and it is still there...cannot get rid of it. Am wanting to get rid of all traces of facebook as it is not used...

Was actually trying to disable it.....had slight confused moment there

Have disbled it under package disabler pro and it no longer appears in the app list so that's good

Is just strange why it would cause the phone to reboot...

Either I'm growing tired of my Note 4, or it is growing tired of it's existence.

The Screen seems somewhat unresponsive in some area's at the best of times, not to mention the general user experience just doesn't seem as great as it did back in 2014

Battery is holding up OK I guess.

Really need a new Phone, but the flagship devices seem a world away!

After the recent mentions of Anker batteries I thought I'd get one to measure the capacity and compare to my genuine Samsung ones.

I bought one from Amazon (sold by AnkerDirect, fulfilled by Amazon) for £13.99 a couple of days ago. It showed a 55% charge when fitted and I discharged it completely before charging in a separate Samsung battery charger kit using the same USB power meter, charge cable and Samsung charger I've used previously to measure the capacity of my other batteries.

My various Samsung batteries have shown a capacity of 3187-3248mAh when put through the full discharge – charge cycle.

Total capacity after just this one charge is shown as 3236mAh which is reassuring. Bear in mind some of the feedback for these particular batteries shows a small number of buyers have problems either straight away or a few weeks/months down the line after a number of charge cycles. I’ll use this for a few weeks and see how it performs after a few more charge cycles.

DPE1 > DPG1 OTA update has just appeared on mine. would post a screenshot by imgur is playing up.

I have noticed a slow down. It probably is time to root it and get rid off 50% of the junk but can't be bothered.

It still outshines my old HTC at the same age though. HTC gave up updating after 12 months.

What is everyone planning to upgrade to? I've had my Note 4 since October 2014 so due an upgrade soon. I don't have any real gripes with the phone other than the fact the battery life is starting to suck. Possible MM or age of battery? I am eyeing up the S7 but also thinking that the Note 7 might be more logical as I do enjoy the larger screen.
