I had the same problem on the sv, the front brake would click when lever is applied. I rode without the rattle shims for a bit then got a refurbed calipers and was all fine.

Like Tom says, bend them into better shape, they are probably only there to stop rattle issues, well it is on the sv.

Put a deposit on this lovely thing today, hopefully can pick it up this week

Haha, I loved the fact you could cruise at 170-190km/h for 200km laid back in a comfy leather seat with AC on and you didn't feel tired. The wind was louder than the engine, 8 gears in the automatic gearbox did the job. Although it was lacking power, I missed the ability to overtake something quickly and easily like you can on a bike...

Edit:
I'll be out on my bike all day tomorrow though! :D

Had a bit of a slow moment this morning, unlocked the bike and hopped on it to wheel it back out of the gate, get right in the middle of the gate and clunk; back wheel will only move a few degrees either way and I'm stuck in the middle of a narrow gate with no way to move the bike or put it on the stand.

First thought was **** something bad like one of the bearings has collapsed has ruined my morning, anyway manage to hope off the bike without dropping it or trapping myself have a look and a listen while trying to move it and the actual wheel seemed ok no noise or roughness just a complete lack of movement past a few degrees.

Then I have a eureka moment after staring at it for a minute or 2 so I stick the keys in switch it on and no neutral light AHA! ping it into N and away we go, strange as it was definitely in N when I parked up last night as I remember having to roll the little bugger for a few seconds to get it to move up.

Anyway that's the closest I've had to a kill switch oh no my bikes dead! moment :D

New helmet should be back with Sportsbikeshop today so we'll see what they come back with in terms of sorting it I'd be happy if they offer to split the difference on this years model of the same helmet so that'll be about £30 extra for me.

rode into work today, first time using a cheapy ebay tank bag

what a difference to a rucksack! pure utter bliss

should be getting a proper tank lock bag this week.

btw, can you carry a laptop in a magnetic tank bag? any issues with hard drives getting fried?

I wouldn't want to do it long term as I imagine the magnets on tank bags are relatively powerful.

You're right though it does feel so much better riding without a bag on, I switched to a Kriega waist pack for my commute a few months ago and it's lovely hardly know it's there but still gives me 11lt of space which is more than enough for lunch and a change of clothes; but means I don't have to mess about attaching or removing anything from the bike either.

I personally would not carry a laptop in a tank bag but the magnets are nowhere near the top of the tank bag so will never effect it unless you have different set up ,magnets are about a half a foot away from the top part of the bag.

The tank bag I use has very little power but many.

I use a givi with padding for such things.

thanks, its only for few days until my tank lock bag arrives, then will have no issues :)

Today is beaut, I can't wait to burn some rubber later on, finishing work at 4:30 too! :D

Trying to work on my cornering techniques, to get a better line, and less speed scrubbing.

Had a bit of a slow moment this morning,

I did this a few weeks back! :D On the ride in I could hear something from the front brake - a rubbing noise, so was slightly worried there was an issue. On leaving work, I have to turn the bike around, so I keep the ignition off so not to annoy the office next to my bike. It would only move an inch, I kept trying, but no luck. I got off, looking at the disk, trying to push it forward and back. Really worried that the disk had somehow locked.

I tried starting it, and bingo, was in first gear still :o:D
