This but if it's beach wear it's acceptable - bikini/shorts and shorts etc (because you're not gonna go swimming so no need for swimming trunks etc....). Just because you're on a beach doesn't make it any more or less acceptable. If anything people on beaches should cover up more because there are more likely to be kids there...
 
It's mental how we're so terrified of naked skin, yet Sky news were replaying the video of that guy walking out of Mcdonalds and opening fire on a crowd of people - and nobody really batted an eyelid..

Society really is weird these days.

I'd imagine we'd probably have some version of an "is it acceptable" debate if lots of folk, during a spell of unusually toasty weather, started casually strolling out of fast food franchises whilst spraying lead upon the gathered innocents.

It's not just underwear on show that we get worked up over.
 
Whilst on holiday I saw women young and old in their bikinis and thought nice,
When I saw them in their clothes I wondered what they would be like in underwear, then I realised I'd already seen them like that, in their bikinis. There's no difference, or maybe I'm just a pervert :)
 
I don't have a problem with it. Not much different from swimwear. Boxers are probably less revealing than speedos.

I have no objection to women wearing underwear either. I am not gay.

I think we should lighten up in this country. Topless women are great. Pretty sure most men enjoy that when they go on holiday.

The cringe hypocrisy inherited from earlier moralists who thought they had it all figured is real, and yet babies still get made somehow, and people still need to cool down in hot weather. In both instances nature eventually wins.
 
It is all about degree.

If the girl is wearing a sports Brah/sports knickers (Indistinguishable from a Bikini) and she is doing it in a place where a Bikini would not be unacceptable, then fair enough.

If she is all "Anne Summers" then No!

Similarly,

If the bloke is wearing some trim briefs (that are basically the same as swimming trunks) in a place where swimming trunks would otherwise be acceptable, than again, Fine.

If he is wearing baggy boxers/Y fronts with "Mr Winkle" creeping out through the flap then NO!

Like most of these sorts of questions in life. You just need to think about what is reasonable to others in a public place.
 
At uni when the weather is warm the girls always sunbath on the grass in Halls. I was in the flat where the kitchen overlooked said grass area.

I miss uni!
