Or maybe we aren't stupid and realize that this would NOT make us safer but actually place us in significantly MORE danger !

No no one should be allowed a gun bar people that use them as tools or police(I guess police use them as tools as well).

All allowing general gun ownership will achieve is America.
 
You can never stop a maniac, so long as humans exist - they will always be maniacs, whether they going on a shooting spree or get behind the wheel of a truck.

In my eyes, having a well funded, well trained security service is the best protection we can get, without turning the general public into dangerous untrained armed vigilantes, or destroying our free and open society. Along with the best medical / mental help, in order to seek out these people and help them before they go mental.

Unless it's Islamic terror, in which case sendem back. (I actually don't have a clue what you do if religious terrorism is involved... )

Tell that to the criminals who don't follow the law...
It's OK I understand many people have a fear about firearms but just think about them poor people who been killed and could not defend themselves :(

Think about the Police response to an incident like this, arriving to see everyone running around with a gun, how would you spot the actual target?

"oh it wasn't me officer it was that dead guy, yup over there, under the pile of other people who randomly started shooting at the other people who started shooting at the original guy...honest"

A virtually slim chance of avoiding death while shooting back is not worth everything else that comes with it, including easily obtainable weaponry, better equipped criminals and more deaths.

Think about millions of people all walking around in public with guns, think about what happens when you have normal every day disagreements, domestic arguments, and minor physical fracas in pubs or outside petrol stations, etc - then behold the entirely predictable and unnecessary amount of total and utter carnage.

Also spare a thought for the innocents accidentally shot by other innocents in the panic. A large crowd of scared amateurs all armed with hand guns? What could possibly go wrong?!

Indeed, the other week in that US police shooting, a random member of the public went and got his rifle and tried to "help" the end result was that he caused 10x more problems than he solved, because he just confused the police and wasted god knows how much time and resource,
 
German police say the '9th dead person' was found approx. 1 km away from the initial incident and was wearing that red backpack we can see in the photos above.
 
With any normal disagreements if you pull your firearms then your be locked up.
Same as if you ran someone over in your car or hit them?

Oh well it don't matter nothing will change or will get tighter laws for the law abiding people that have zero effect of criminal shootings
