Fury vs 980Ti

So you disregard that article because you don't like it and would rather stick to that guy who is fair and unbiased? And then you call out people for being fanboys.... Ermmm ok :o

Feel free to pop me on ignore btw. That way you don't have to read anything you might not like :)

I disregard it as I can point to hundreds of articles that say the opposite and you bring ONE to the table... you are the biggest fanboy of them all Gregster. I won't being replying to your drivel any longer.

Nvidia: "Hey look everyone our performance is less removed in Gameworks titles than AMD's. Hooray."

Me: "But Nvidia now people with 970s and lower can't run the game either"

Nvidia: "Only collateral damage to peasants. Now sherrup and buy our £1300 Titan X".

Was edited, as i said the Ti over the Fury, because of it only having 4GB vram, but then i looked up the prices of the Tis now, and saw you can get the newer faster 1070 for that, so that'd be the card to go for now, not a Fury or 980Ti.

Show me these articles with decent testing and I will look at it with a fair assessment. That video is a rant about GameWorks and nothing to do with driver degradation. Call me names and whatever but show me some of these articles and back up what you are saying.

I suggest you watch the entire video and get to the part about planned obsolescence and stop moaning about crap you don't understand. Anyways I'm out. You are not worth my time.

You are so naive... Planned obsolescence is not new and comes in many forms. Nvidia do it by not improving on their past architecture, but rather let it stagnant, whereas AMD constantly improve upon their old architectures. This isn't anything new. Most companies do it including Apple.

Happens with everything. The most obvious market being smartphones and their updates + software features etc. How many times have the likes of Samsung, HTC, LG etc. etc. said they can't provide certain features/updates because of some lame excuse of "the hardware doesn't support it" yet phones from other brands have got said updates and features despite having the same hardware, not to mention the length of time it takes for them to provide updates... This forces people to upgrade to the newer models with all the new fancy features more often.

Buying a 980 Ti doesn't make sense anymore. It's yesterday's tech and ages badly. Go for an 1070 or the Fury. The latter will be still among us, when Maxwell feels like distant history.

Never take everything you read on here as gospel, fanboyism is rife and makes real buying decisions difficult, take what everyone is saying and then spend time reading into each opinion, then form you own.

I wouldnt buy anything based on comments in the GPU forum, look at the 4GB post above mine (edited out) yet go off onto the rest of internet and do your own research and it seems it isnt as much as a problem as is being made out with regards to HBM memory

Yup I saw that comment. My 4GB Nano HBM is holding up extremely well. I agree with your comment and it is one of the very few educated comments I have come by on this forum in a long time!

Yeah 4GBs fine, we've got ROTTR where you have to turn the textures down on a Fury as it doesn't have enough vram, GOW Ultimate that recommends the 390 over the Fury, as it doesn't have enough vram, DOOMs Nightmare mode, that the Fury doesn't have enough vram for (its 5GB minimum), and all the other games that are coming now, that the Fury isn't going to have enough vram for. :p

Of course having 4gb's of vram ram will be enough for future games.

You just won't be able to run the highest texture settings on some.

Take gears for example. The highest texture settings are for 4k displays so running that on anything less is a waste of time. I can't tell the difference on a 1440p display even though I can run it with 4k textures as I have 8gb of vram,

The Fury should have been recommended then, as its a 4K card.

Right, watched the whole video and it just comes across as conjecture from an AMD fan, which he is. Nothing but speculation of this and that. By all means though, you can recommend the Fury over the 980Ti and I will recommend the 980Ti. I will base my recommendations on the performance that is showing here and now and that is that. By the way, really any need for the constant rudeness?

Fury 4GB HBM VS 8GB RX 480 GDDR5 both AMD cards as not interested in fanboyism

http://hwbench.com/vgas/radeon-rx-480-vs-radeon-r9-fury

I dont know what textures are being used but the Fury with lesser Vram performs better than the card with higher Vram at all resolutions

I think with my limited knowledge that perhaps devs dont code for HBM and therefore when stating 4GB is not enough for Ultra settings they havent taken HBM into account at all, just GDDR

Indeed!

The Lightbulb Conspiracy is a good documentary about Planned obsolescence, and i really liked the part about the inkjet printer that had a chip in it that counted and had a set amount of printed sheets that could be made then it would trigger a fail and was told to buy a new one and a bright spark got the documentation for the printer and found away to reset the counter in the chip and the printer worked fine again.

Did you really need to create another thread about this? Not complaining as you've been proven wrong over there too:)

How have I been proven wrong? I have asked you a couple of times now to show me some evidence and all you have given me is a video whinging about GameWorks and massive conjecture thrown in. I have provided testing over many games and old Vs new drivers but you ignore the facts for unsubstantiated claims. Come on fella, wake up a bit lol.

Okay so either you agree with me or you don't? Your very post proves I am right. Over on the thread you made you agreed with me, now here you are backtracking. Make up your mind! ARGH! Why do I reply to your drivel! Got to stop feeding the fanboy insanity!

I cant speak for the other games but Doom runs fine on Nightmare at 1440p. It starts running out of memory at 4k nightmare.

These cards will become 1080p cards soon and I think for that they will be good for ages.

Carry on with the insults and I will start reporting your posts! I am getting a tad annoyed with those now. Debate like an adult or don't bother.

Don't pretend like you havent already reported my posts. How about you act like an adult and get a thicker skin... You realise your constant Nvidia peddling isn't helping anyone.

Well, this thread turned out exactly how anyone unfortunate enough to have been around this cesspit for a while would have expected it to.
NV fans recommend the 980ti, AMD fans recommend the Fury. Ludicrous sniping, baiting and name calling from man children ensues.

Hurrah!
