Punching kids on public transport

An arm lock in a cramped space with a struggling kid can lead to all sorts of injury. I dont think the guy had the right to do anything, considering it really isnt anything to do with him.

It's actually good practise to do use something like an arm lock over say striking with a punch or a kick, it's why Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic martial art for Police and people who have to use restraints such as Mental health nurses. The arm lock the kid was in won't have been painful at all, he just won't have been able to move. Plus all we've seen so far is a picture, we don't know if the kid did anything else

Smacking doesn't create psychos, infact we imo a huge problem with children who know no boundaries in this day and age, simply because they fear no consequences to their actions.
I think this however was a bit overboard, they were being disrespectful but it doesn't warrant physical harm. Had he got lippy to the old man and threatened him then fair play.
Seems to me that the old man some how felt that he needed to teach them a lesson. Bit of a grey area because, yes you should respect your elders but sadly we do not.
I have had times where I felt I would love to give a kid a clip round the ear.

Why do people care if other people have their feet up anyway? If it isn't affecting you, why does it matter? I can't understand why people would get so upset over it.

Punch a kid that young is not on but I understand the frustration, the Kids really should know better. Its worse when Adults do it ofc.

People need to remember its Public transport and not your own personal transport

Have you read the article? The children did not instigate any violence, and were punched and placed in arm/headlock type hold.

Hopefully the man is arrested and charged with assault.

'CAUSE IT IS NOT HOW YOU SIT MAN.

Have used public transport a lot, the world over, people sitting with their feet up is not unusual in the slightest.

The victims were not inconveniencing the attacker though, they were sat with their feet up on the train seats (happens all the time).

Not that I could condone it but I could sort of understand it if they had their feet up kicking at the back of the seat behind where he was sitting but in this case it is just a grumpy old man.

Not a fan of people putting their feet up on public seats either but wouldn't bother me to the point of remonstrating with someone over it - I'd just think slightly the less of them and move on with my life.

That was not what happened though, he approached them, twice the second time resulting in an assault on three children (who's ages added together are still less than half his age).

Hopefully he is arrested and charged with assault, mystifying that people did not intervene.

Peeps with muddy/dirty and feat put said mud/dirt on a seat, why should anyone have to then sit on that ? It also lead the the seat wearing more quickly, would you want to sit on a ****ed up seat due to this. The later is especially bad on on the back of bus's when they are the only row which have seats facing each other.

Its all about respecting the public environment for the next person that has to be there and use it, sure this is on the lower end of the scale but its part of a general trend sadly in the UK

So it is ok to punch a child when they do this?

Yeah if he punched them that was out of order, we don't really have many details though apart from what some 17 year old can vaguely remember

I didn't say it was what happened :P I said I could have understood it if had been the case.
