hello guys,

since the custom rx 480 will come not before next week, I'm thinking to buy the r9 fury nitro (offer 299pounds)

what do you think about it?
why is better the 480, or why is better the fury?

thanks

Fury is more capable there's no doubt about. More processing power and faster memory than a rx480.

They are a different class of card altogether. If you can afford a Fury, get a Fury.

I went for the Fury, just took delivery of it. It's more powerful than the 480 with the only issue ever being that some games won't let you active very high textures due to 4gb but it's £300, no card for that money will run very high textures that is as fast as the fury unless you go second hand

the missing HDMI 2.0 and the powerconsumption are the 2 reason for which I'm hesitating

it depends if you need the performance.. you will get more power out of the fury but at the cost of more watts and heat.

As for HDMI 2.0. If you absolutely need it then go for the 4GB RX480 and save £100.

I can't wait another week myself so got a Fury plus it is faster even if it only has 4GB VRAM I'll probably upgrade to vega and sell it when I can.

I would not even consider spending £300 on a 4GB VRAM GPU at this point in time. 8GB is the minimum to go for.

By the times you even break the 4GB VRAM limit the RX 480 will be weak and useless anyway and hitting 40fps max which is throw up material. Not only that but the speed the HBM has it is more like 5GB.

I've been using more than 4GB VRAM for many months.

Just think about it, why would NVIDIA include 8GB on the 1070, or 1080, if 4GB was sufficient? Why would AMD include an 8GB option on the 480, if 4GB was sufficient? Games can and do use more than 4GB already.
