I'm after a card to replace a GTX 460 1gb.

The rest of the computer specs are Intel Pentium Sandybridge, Corsair CX430 (about 4 years old) and 4gb RAM.

Budget for an upgrade overall is £80, but I'd like to spend some of that getting a CPU upgrade.

Looking for a like for like replacement, how does the GT730 compare?

Cheers :)

R7 250 2GB is almost twice as fast, at the same price bracket of £65. While at £84 there is the R7 360 which is 3 times faster than the GT730.

Polaris 11 is meant to be released in a few days time - it might be worth seeing how much it costs.

RX 470 supposed to be launching on the 4th. 4GB is $149/£600, 8GB is $179/£900.

Lots of us excited for the 470, as it's supposed to be the "sweat spot" of the Polaris range.

I am having difficulties reading your £ evaluations ... must be my eyes not seeing the right figures !

To the trusty Tom's hierarchy! http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Since we're talking about the 1 GB version it's the 460 256-bit, which puts it in the same bracket as an R7 360 (£100) or between a GT 740 and GTX 750 (£96). A 750 Ti would be better for the same price.

A 730 is quite a bit slower.

Second hand is probably your best bet. Plenty of good old cards around the £50 mark (7850, 560 Ti, etc.)

If it's at all possible for you to wait, I'd add to the idea of seeing how much Polaris 11 costs.

Otherwise, as has been suggested, see if you can find an HD 7970 or R9 280X (same GPU) for your budget. Unlikely you'll get anything better than that.
