Must be exciting ordering a brand new car. But I must admit I'd personally do every bit of research before picking my options. I'd be seriously annoyed at myself if I'd not specced something that would improve my experience and saleability down the line.
The pro media package is great. My friend has it in his 320d GT and it's definitely an option I'd be wanting.

The only time it is ugly in motors is about finance deals, and there has been some absolute shockers over the years. No one in here is doing anything except giving advice over amendment to the OP's posted spec. I'm guessing that's why it was posted in the first place?

I missed the option for folding seats in the Merc. Kicked myself for 2 years over that one. It gave me a massive car that couldn't carry anything longer than the boot unless it went out the window
The Professional Media package is a must, its such a good system, nothing comes close right now.
If you plan to keep the car for a fair few years and you are purchasing new, doing research into options is just basic common sense, in my last company car i added quite a few options, even though it wasnt really my car, but over 4 years, i havent regretted any of the option, well maybe the stupid storage nets behind the seats and the illumination pack! The B&O and dab setup was stocnking value at £500, and the LED xenons/DRL setup made the car look so much nicer than the standard A4 with 'orrible halogens.

Yeah, but you have to be cagey and underhand with it. Obviously they aren't going to be interested if they know you're going lease and not buying from them.

That was my experience buying a used BMW. Trying to sell me alloy wheel insurance, supraguard etc etc.

On the subject of shocking salesman. My other half was looking at a Peugeot 208 and went for a test drive with me in the back. The salesman turns to her and says this car drives lovely and all the power is there when you need it. My response was "What its whole 80 horsepower?" That shut him up and as you can probably imagine we walked away.

He wasn't wrong though. It's whole 80 ponies were there.
I had this when I bought my 730d years ago. The sales man said it was a V6. I corrected him of course. He got the 6 bit right so I guess that's half marks.
And he probably had a good laugh at you with his colleagues. Seriously, salesmen say some stupid stuff but what did you expect?

I just hope he negotiated hard because there are big discounts on these cars. The car he has ordered is available new, at that spec, for under £24k despite it's list price of much more than that.

It's a new rule I'll be implementing across the board for OP's, but it also comes with a caveat, you are not allowed to post in future anything relating to the decision you didn't want criticised, so if you do find out you could have saved more money, you could have gotten a much better spec or car, or even if you have trouble selling in future because everyone else has gotten a better version of the car and your resales value is lower, then that's on you because you didn't want any advice at the time.
Personally when I post something I want people to criticise my decision making so I can see things from a different point of view and potentially make a better decision, no one here posts negative things just to be mean, they are trying to help.
