Active shooting Austin Texas.

The interesting thing is, that a few years ago - especially around the Sandy Hook incident, it seemed as though there might be a chance for change, but everything failed.

Now I get the feeling there's no hope at all, there seems to be no real surprise or shock when these shootings happen, it seems as though people have accepted that "this is how it is" which can only be a very bad thing..

Removing civilian-owned firearms from the US is simply impossible. They need to mitigate these sad incidents by researching and acting to negate the root causes. There is no right answer.

I think the root cause is idiots with guns.

We're not allowed to shoot idiots so that only really leaves one answer!

it isn't it would be a long and hard process. but something that could be chipped away at, over many many decades.

they've already banned certain guns and changed laws in some states.
once something is illegal guns can be slowly confiscated and have a no questions asked buy back like Australia did.

rip to the victim, thankfully not mass killings like normal in America.

Guns don't kill people, bullets do.

Ban the bullets. Americans can still wave their guns around but the worst outcome would be a pistol whipping.

oh boy are we really gonna have to have every gun crime in the USA rammed down our GD throats now ?

No chance ever. Guns are a core part of American history and culture, they're simply never going to give them up.

Besides, the sheer number of illegal firearms in America means that removing all the legal ones would tilt the scales very much in favour of criminals.

are you from the nra, tilted towards criminal, like in pretty much every western country where it isn't much of an issue.
yes it can be done but it'll take an extremely long time, but you have to start somewhere and slowly restrict access.

It's an amendment. So amend it back out...
