Some not all. The people of those countries definitely won't want it.

This assertion is based on what? The EU is quite popular in every one of its members. Britain has always been the most skeptical by far yet leave won by less than 4%.

Furthermore, if it does implode it would greatly affect Britain. That being said, I'm not surprised people such as yourself want to see things burning.

"The Markit/CIPS purchasing managers' index that showed activity in the UK's dominant services sector saw its sharpest fall in seven years.
It follows falls in both construction and manufacturing in July.
The index fell from 52.3 in June to 47.4 in July, indicating contraction."

Above from bbc.

So its looking increasingly likely we will get a recession now.

This is kind of what I feared happening. Just the same as business doesn't like uncertainty sensible individuals don't and are cutting back on spending.

Potentially we could see a couple of years of concern and people holding back based on uncertainty. Could even dip in and out of recession over a few years.

We need the discretionary spenders to keep going or we will see the down spiral. Last recession many jobs were not lost that were expected to be due to skills issues and the unknown how long it was likely to last. I wonder if we will see the same again or if companies will be faster to lay off this time. With many industries reporting skills shortages I hope we will see the same action as after the financial crisis induced recession, the difference is that its a known quantity this time, we know we will see probably 2-2.5 years of uncertainty.

Self inflicted recession.

Except you may not get fit and healthy. You may be the same weight or even fatter at the end of it.

Or even worse you could have an accident at the gym and end up causing permanent damage. After spending a load on fees, meaning you were worse off on all counts than if you had of avoided the gym in the first place ;)

Which is all the more likely to happen if you haven't read the instructions for the gym equipment and don't have a clue how to use it. No point listening to the gym instructor either because (s)he's an 'expert'.

All these unelected gym staff members making rules and regulations we have no say over  I might fill out a comment card expressing my discontent with having to pay a discounted membership rate and getting all the same benefits and then rage quit and start my own gym from scratch with some old dumbells I found in a shed.

Do we get weights in lbs instead of them kgs now?

Just think benching 440 now instead of 200, see how europe was holding us back!

Its done on a unanimous vote.

Why do they need the uk when they can cote no themselves

If only it was that simple, this is politics! Countries are pressured to vote in certain ways. Unfortunately the balance of the EU has moved significantly towards countries like France now.

Very true. The UK hari kari has had the benefit to France of making them more powerful within the EU.

ahh so all that "but we have a veto!!!" wasn;t quite so simple as it was made out?

So who here actually believes that it takes over 5 months to prepare for the negotiations?

David Davis and his department whatever its called, what exactly are they doing? I bet they finished a week ago and are busy browsing the web and playing games.

Reminds me of the Dunning–Kruger effect.
