Russell Square stabbings: Man arrested on suspicion of murder

I can almost taste the frantic anticipation, from some of the people in this thread - waiting for reports to come out that the attacker was a Muslim..

its getting a bit pathetic really. mods need to take a firmer hand, its in the rules for goodness sake - "OcUK holds a strict policy of inclusion, as such, members posting in a xenophobic, racist, or in a prejudiced nature will not be tolerated. Posts that defame an individual or group of individuals owing to their race or ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, or sexuality for example (the list is not exhaustive) will be removed and a suspension to their account will be applied. "

Yep. Desparation really. I seriously hope it's not a Muslim purely for the fact that I can't be arsed reading another 500 page thread about why we should build walls / eliminate muslims / kick them out / whatever. Pathetic really.

Calling muslim terrorists muslim terrorists isn't against the rules

No one has said anything like that in any threads, if they did they'd get banned. People like you just read a debate where people suggest sensible measures such as proper border controls and limiting free movement and then you scream racism and that pathetic word all the lefties love "xenophobia"

insinuating people are muslim terrorists when they're not however.. (which happens way too much)

The majority of these kind of threads (particularly recently) have in fact turned out to be linked to Islamic terrorism so I think it's fair people will make assumptions based on the number of Islamic attacks we have around the world these days.

oh come on, people always blame muslims even before the facts come out.

They may well be a Muslim but considering what happened and the history of the area in treating mental health patients (who have then had their care removed) it would in all likelihood be not the actual driving reason.

Hopefully, people will have the sense to realise that if that is proven to be the case.

Hopefully, people will also think how the treat the subject of mental health too. With the greatest respect to the mods here whilst they clamp down on anything anti-religious in sentiment they seem rather reluctant and have themselves shown no problems throwing around words such as 'loonies', 'crazies', nutters', etc.

It would be helpful if we could actually place some perspective on both groups and not talk so poorly of both. We all know most Muslims aren't terrorists and we all know most people with mental health problems don't hurt anyone else.

I think one telling thing here is how good our police are. They didn't just shoot the person but incapacitated them so we can find out what was occurring/or not in their mind and what the motivations for the attack were. Our police get a lot of stick but in my opinion they are the best in the world by quite a stretch.

Posts like this really annoy me. I don't know what's wrong with people who still defend our open door policy after everything that's happened. The old cliché of anything to do with immigrants then you're a racist is getting boring now. Snip

Oh come on, that is taking leftist PC BS a bit too far if you want to clamp down on words like that...

To think though, that there were plenty of people here arguing against arming the police with tasers.

If many far-left luvvies had their way the police would be walking around with a stick of candy floss in each hand, claiming it was just as effective. :D

Looks like Tefal is correct! ;)

Tefal is biased, as he has suffered severe mental health issues in his life. That does not equate to everyone who mentions those words "bashing" mental health in general.

I can't believe that two people have already called out the mod team for not acting, in a thread where a horrific attack has taken place, and there has been no rule breaking.

RIP to this woman and, it would seem, well played to the police for acting the way they did.

was more of a general comment for what its worth. its rife throughout GD imo.

excuse me? you're putting words in my mouth.

it's always muslims? there we go gilly, is that not a rule break there? Use the RTM button!

I can fully believe it, as people are so quick to want to shut down discussions that threaten their own hysterical views.
