Thought that is what you would say.

Doom proves otherwise, 4G allows for higher detail level settings not available on 2G and on Ultra settings still achieved a respectable 55fps at 1080P on Ultra:

So with DX12 and Vulkan being adopted more 4GB is actually a benefit on the RX 460 and I'd say 55fps is perfectly playable.
