Words / phrases that annoy you

Another one.

'Flick me an email'

Again, everyone use that term here. Nobody seem to be able to come up with their own words and terms. Monkey hear, monkey repeat.

People using double negatives.

Them: "I'm not doing no XX today"
Me: "Oh, so you're doing XX today"
Them: "No, I said I'm not doing no XX today"

And so it continues, them being utterly confused when I try and explain it to them. </pedant>

Can I get.

Really angers me. Another Americanism.

Could I please have... Sure, I'll do that for you.

Can I get... Yes you can, go get it yourself then.

I work on IT projects so lots of bull**** bingo! Some recent additions include:

"Reach out"
"Traction"
"World class"
"Socialise"
"Juggernaut"
"Ducks in a row"

...I could go on...and on!

Can you invent a unified theory of quantum mechanics and mavity? If there is no such thing as can't, I'm sure you can.:p
I can, just don't want to.

Maybe I should have said I don't like how most people use the word can't just when they want to be lazy. I'm sure you know to what context I mean.

my gf is always saying anal these days and i never know what she means by it. so many different contexts in the way that she says it. drives me nuts

The whole CoB (close of business) thing and it's alternatives instead of "end of the day".

"Cheeky" as in "Have a cheeky Nandos". Infuriating.

"Can I get a *suchandsuch*"

Bae, fam and any new BS that the kids are saying these days.

Referring to cars:
"It looks much better in the metal."

ARGH. NO. STOP IT. The phrase for referring to seeing something first hand is "in the flesh". It's not a literal, you'd don't to change the material in the phrase for whichever object you are referring to.
