That 1.5 hour news delay was pretty unprecedented, although I doubt anyone could have forseen the way the race delays unfolded when they originally decided to move the news by 30 minutes.
Made me chuckle to think of all the moaning that was likely going on around the country about the Olympics being more important than the news, only for the first news item when it eventually did appear was .... the Olympics![]()
I haven't watched a single second of the Olympics.
Whilst the constant histrionics do begin to grate somewhat, it's great to see the GB athletes doing so well.
I'd also much rather the Olympics have wall to wall coverage than any football tournament.
I read on another forum that the TV audience at it's peak was only marginally higher than the bake off final so what does that tell us?

Furthermore I well remember the great selling point of 2012 was that sport would be the great legacy of the games, they would transform the health of the nation. That hasn't really happened has it - the Brits are known as the lardy boys and girls of Europe and with good reason.
Us neither - not one single second, don't know who has won what and care even less. Some people need to get lives of their own. I reckon videos of the olympics should be given out free to people who suffer with insomnia.
I also reckon they will be playing Olympic DVDs in the job centres over the next year when the queues start to lengthen as Brexit begins to bite. Well always assuming we did okay of course.![]()

The single biggest and most sporting event in the world, something which only happens every 4 years, it is hard not to have a lot of focus on the Olympics.

And yet here you are. Seems you've spent more seconds telling us how little you care and ranting about people who do, than actually watching the Olympics. Remind us who needs to get a life again?
