As a avid sniper in most games I played one round before work and I have to say the sniping is OP, Mainly if you have a quick reactions you can win against assault rifle close range and so on. I was not able to get the feel for the bullet drop from that quick game but I was hitting HS left right.

to your frustration
A) Playing sniper to me show a skill of marksmanship. Its hard to hit HS on a running guy over a distance. Lot of hate comes from people who are not able to do so and consider snipers "useless" or annoying. Now i do understand the anger for a guy who lies on the edge of a map and does nothing...thats quite angering even for me but If I play objectives as sniper and then keep distance to protect the objective or take different route to flak/suppress enemies thats snipers role well done....so yes I do enjoy sniper gameplay....and its satisfying hitting them dank headshots then spray and pray with smg or lmg.....

B)Its part of most of games, and was the same in BF 4 and 3 if you get rekt by a sniper after running for 3 minutes he is good, doing his job protecting the objective and you will learn to push with a vehicle or your teammates...

That said I too do hope the BF1 will not be sniper fest as 90% of so called snipers do not take objectives and just hide in rocks far away

It was a robust defense but in your own admission 90% of people who snipe just do it for a great Kill/death ratio stat and aren't playing the objective or even helping.

If the game is making those people even more powerful then it's not right.

Particularly now that they have changed the way scores work so that kills won't run down your tickets. Those 90 percenters won't even be helping their team in any way really.

I find sniping is easier in this than BF4.

Just had a sandstorm, it's crazy! You can't see *** haha. Gave up sniping, it's impossible, whipped out the pistol and went at it.
It's certainly a game changer, but in rush it benefits the attacking side massivly, which makes it unbalance.

I'm really liking it, but again apart from the UI. Looks like it's just taken from XBox. What's wrong with Battlelog?

Sandstorm is a bit pointless imo, dips your fps a bit and makes playing irritating pretty much regardless of class or vehicle. Doesn't seem to last all that long but from what ive seen so far people are glad when its over.

My hopes are that this will force more snipers to be bit more on the objectives.... But normally real world kind of scenario you want to be as far and as hidden as you can...so yea two sides of the same coin...

If you want to do well in this game as infy, you need to play as sniper, they are the only guns not to be affected by the retarded hold LMB for more accurate fire and don't have retarded spread on their first shot, this amongst other reasons such as being a big open map so all other classes of guns are useless (medic and possibly LMG/support guys aside) are why most players are choosing scout class.

It was the same in the alpha.

That is why DICE need to look at what I and others have suggested regarding gun mechanics and go back to bf 4 way, otherwise we will be playing sniper field 1 and tanks will be able to rekt even more easily due to the lack of assault/engi players thus majority of servers will start to implement scout limits.

One thing I have noticed so far, I havent been revived once, in about 10 rounds. Im not sure that people even know how to revive on this yet.

Because most are playing as scout :D

That and with kills/deaths not counting towards tickets, people don't see much point reviving now, unless they have changed it since alpha were reviving will remove/add 1 ticket...

Once again, dice logic...

Work on something for years and more or less perfect it and then decide to throw all that hard work away and start from scratch...

Regarding dx 12, I got about 30+FPS gain but it was stuttery, dx 11 is buttery smooth but fps are less, still pushing 100 with my setup and settings though (only got texture, filtering and mesh on high/ultra)

Pretty sure suppression has been reduced, doesn't seem as blurry and the vignette effect is a bit less than the alpha from what I can tell, not 100% sure yet though

Thats true, hadnt thought about that. Was just something I noticed as I tend to always play as Medic in the BF series, I guess its not too big of a problem, doesnt make a whole deal of sense that I can revive a dead person with a syringe anyway :D

Another odd thing I have noticed...the sound. Its brilliant, but I seem to have people talking around me when there is nobody there (unless its my soldier talking to himself), I get that spawn noise (the rustle of equipment) but nobody spawns, I hear close gunshots, but nobody nearby. Its kind of odd. Out in the middle of the desert, nobody else around but I hear them talking and bullets ricocheting nearby.

Closest i can get to 4K on 1440p is using 71% which gives 3848x2164

Same just tested it.

At 71% Scale I get: 3848 X 2164
At 70% Scale I get: 3815 X 2145

4K iirc is 3840 X 2160

how you turn off the green fps meter. i havent got anything running so must be in game :p

You should know this

perfoverlay.drawfps 0

Whenever I do this in BF4 I end up with a idiot in my squad spawning on the beacon and start sniping from right next to it  :p
