He is criminally overrated.

Yea, i don't think so. I keep remembering that performance against Barca when he was 19 years old, playing against Xavi and Iniesta, he was incredible, i vaguely remember Xavi saying something about him as well. He's just had some really bad injuries.

Wilshire has done nothing of note in the last few years. He is criminally overrated and gets better the less he plays.

I think his lack of playing time is due in part to injury, but there are obviously other factors. He would struggle to get in to the Arsenal midfield now, imho.

Once again, opinions won't be changed over Wilshire. So debating him is pointless.

He might be able to get some first team matches under his belt, the most interesting thing is not how well he plays, but if he plays. Can Bournemouth get him fit and playing.

I see this as his last throw of the dice, if he can't stay fit and rediscover his form from when he burst onto the scene it'll the scrapheap for him I think.

I don't see how someone can say he's overrated though, when he's fit and on form, he's a special player, one of the best in England. I agree that he's not done much these last few years and he wouldn't get into the Arsenal side atm but his ability is still there. We'll agree to disagree on his ability i suppose.

How is seeing a player for a few minutes here and there concreted him in your mind as being one of the best players in England? Seriously. There are a wealth of players that are considerably better than him in this country.

He's not played, how can you rate him so highly from the treatment table, the longer he's out the better he gets. He's done 'ok' when he's played in my opinion, I don't think he's a bad player, but he's no where near the next white hope.

There's a reason he's gone out on loan; it's a last chance saloon, he is not good enough to get in to that midfield, he's surplus to requirement at Arsenal.

Seriously, Wenger's biggest problem is his loyalty to his players, even ones that are never fit enough to play. Diaby, Rossy, Wilshire...

The spending in the Championship (mainly the money spent by the relegated Premiership sides) has been genuinely mind boggling for me.

Wednesday have done well, although spending this much money feels strange. Reach in on the final day, seems like a good move from what I've seen of him. Certainly needed another attacking player.

Shame we still have so much deadwood.

Exactly what I was saying to my boss at work, who is an arsenal fan. I think if Wilshere doesn't stay fit and plays games this season for Bournemouth then it could very well be the beginning of the end for him.

If that's the case then truly tragic, despite what Tummy says about him. When he is fit he is something else. Still remember that goal against Norwich where him and Giroud linked up so well. He has scored some stunners for us in the past.

I really hope he can get fit and get back to playing for Arsenal in the future.

What do you mean "a few minutes here and there", he did play games before. He's had full seasons playing the game with like 30/40 apps per season several times. That's how you can rate his ability, when he has been fit and playing week in week out. It's not like he's played a handful of times for Arsenal. It's not last chance saloon for him i don't think, he's 24, it's nothing. He's been loaned out because Arsenal can't afford to play him to get him back to the ability that the club know he's capable of, Arsenal don't have that luxury. I was shocked when i heard he was going to be loaned out, thinking about though, it does make a lot of sense, it's a good move for Wilshere and Arsenal.

Averaged 12 league appearances a season over his Arsenal career so far off the top of my head, and has only made 30+ league appearances once.

 Wait a min...no chance.

08/09 - 8

10/11 - 49
11/12 - 0
12/13 - 33
13/14 - 35
14/15 - 23
15/16 - 3

As you can see, he's had full season playing regular football interrupted by injuries

• Moussa Sissoko - Newcastle - £30m.
• Vincent Janssen - AZ Alkmaar - £17m
• Victor Wanyama - Southampton - £11m
• Georges-Kévin N’Koudou - Marseille - £9m
• Pau Lopez - Espanyol - loan
Total = £67m

with pritchard, mason, yedlin and chadli bring circa £35m then there's no other way of looking at other than we've been fleeced on sissoko

still, a decent window. just hope poch now gets us firing on all cylinders.
