Hi all,

Just wondered if there were any other Madden 17 players here?

I only just picked it up, haven't played a Madden game since the Mega Drive so quite a lot to take in but the training and drills are quite impressive.

I'm not clued up on all the different types of plays but spent last night learning about flats, slants and a bunch of other stuff. I've always liked watching NFL even though I've never had a deep understanding (besides the basics) but seems to stick a bit more when you're actually doing it rather than just watching on TV.

Managed to win my first match (on rookie difficulty) 7-6 as the Lions against the Bears. Not a high scoring affair but was very exciting at the end as I was battling to keep them out of field goal range with the clock ticking down knowing I probably wouldn't have time to do anything if they converted.

Don't think I'll be ready for online play for quite a while but would be good to know if there is a community here.
 
Well I'll be damned!!! Huge 49ers fan here, glad to see some love on the forum. I picked up madden 17 on release and been an avid player since madden 25.

You playing on Xbox or PS? Ultimate team is where its at, put over 300hrs in last season :o

All I play on Xbox is madden so if you fancy a few games hit me up Pwner Of Mankin
 
Ooo another hot tip, head on over to muthead.com. Great site for player stats and market values if you get round to playing ultimate team. Also they just made a new site called maddenpros.com with video guides to every aspect of madden 17 and american football in general.
 
I'm on PS4, quite glad you're on Xbox to be honest as I lost to the Bills tonight as Seattle... if we were to play now I think you'd get into triple figures, lol.

I really suck at this game but enjoying it a lot so far.

Likewise though I'm on Madden 16. I detest the constant stopping and starting.

You would think there would be an option to switch off all replays etc for those who just want to bang out a quick game.

There is a new mode in franchise where you just step in for the key moments and important plays, allows you to get through a game a lot quicker and takes out some of the slog I guess.

Haven't tried it yet myself but the reviews were pretty positive so you might like that.

I think kaepernick went about it in the wrong way to be honest. The GM hates him and after last season and him acting up now I can't see him being at the niners after this season. He played well in harbaughs (sp?) Pistol offence back in 2013-14 but since he's now being forced to be a pocket passer its not him.

Chip kellys fast offence might be for him though, he's only had 13 preseason snaps so he's got to prove himself in the week 4 game but I doubt he will.
 
Not bought 2017 yet, may not bother as I already have 2016.

I've given up on Ultimate Team, it's crap. If it was just a case of getting packs to improve your team then fair enough, but they deliberately shaft you with not enough contracts in order to sell micro transactions.

And the money grubbing gets worse each year.
 
Actually, this years madden you can instantly replay a solo challenge if you fail and it doesn't use any more contracts. The price of contracts hasn't increased either.

If you play the markets, get a few lucky windfalls in packs and persist you end up with a good team. I finished last season with a 93OVR rated team which is pretty decent.

That's good, with FIFA I always feel the need to buy the latest version as I like having accurate teams and players.

I guess if anyone's from St Louis and is a Rams fan they'll stay with Madden '16 indefinitely just so they have a team.
