It is optimised for airflow over aesthetics though doesn't look too bad to me - shame it seems to have some of the negatives as the 540 with regard to the internal drive cages, etc. though :S (With the rear position like that would have been nice if you could slide SSDs in and out without having to open the whole thing up).
Only the top really that doesn't work for me - but I could live with that for good cooling performance. I think I'd probably buy another 540 over it though as I like the slightly meaner look.
I notice the additional cut-out under the USB ports and power switch - would that be for channelling extra connections to the front such as when connecting up VR gear ? Review doesn't seem to talk about that.
Looks are definitely marmite. I'd stick with my 540 for several reasons:
- Those front fins are dust traps.
- Don't like the hinged side, you need more space to open it up rather than the existing couple of thumbscrews and slide the panel back.
- No open drive bay. I'm old school and want my blu-ray drive in the case instead of external.
Yeah I've seen far far worse - I actually consider it largely "inoffensive" its just not very interesting rather than bad though the top kind of sits a bit wrong.
Still hoping to see something like a 540 revision 2 that makes a bit better use of the case's potential the case is close to perfect for me just would be nice with some tweaks.
