Hi Guys,

Firstly, Yes, I'm the dude that set his PC on fire a few days ago!

Just hovering over the buy button on this new spec! Can anybody recommend any tweaks? Money not too much of an issue just trying to get good value and keep the cost down. I only play CS:GO and want a PC that'll last me a few years of general usage.

What sort of fans do I need? Do I need fans for CPU etc? Do I need thermal paste etc? Am I missing anything? What do you think of the build? Am I being too tight with any particualr componant?

ONCE AGAIN, MASSIVE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. You guys are literally the only people standing in between a great PC and me mucking this up haha

Stu - Definitely going to buy that fan. Can you recommend another fan? Do I need any other fan? I'm going to go for that case because I've fallen in love with the case :D

I have a windows VISTA key deano. I'm not sure that qualifies for the windows 10 upgrade?

Only need a single fan at the front, you dont have much making any heat and the PSU fan will exhaust air too.

The case is cheap just so you know, proper cheap.

Perfect. Great advice. I'll get the fan

Get advice on the case thanks too but it just looks super ugly.

Just wondering if I need 16gig i5 and 1060 now lol

Don't forget one of these :D

Sets PC on fire, orders new monitor... Love it. :)

Personally i'd go for team green and a GTX 1060 in place of the 480 but up to you...

If you don't need windows (as you said you had a vista key to use for windows 10) Then I'd definitely get a Z170 motherboard otherwise you'll be limited to stock CPU speeds if you decided to upgrade to a better CPU in the near future using the H110 chipset.

So I've specced one with a i5-6600k so you're set from the off if you ever want to overclock it. - You could save around £40-£50 if you went for a none "k" i5 cpu and a lower spec Z170 motherboard now, but if you ever wanted to overclock the CPU in the future you'd have to sell the none "k" cpu and buy a "k" version which would be less economical in the long run.

To keep it around your initial budget I've dropped the GPU down to a RX470 as it's not that far off the performance of the 4Gb RX 480, something I doubt you will notice in CSGO. But you can always swap it back to the 480 if you really want to.

I've included 16Gb ram too, but again you could drop it down to the 8Gb you originally specified if you want to save £20

Similar with the PSU. I've upped it to the 550w purely because it was only £10 difference and it gives you a little extra headroom if you decide to start overclocking the CPU and GPU. But again you could save another £10 if you want to use the original 450w you specified.

Overclocking is no longer rocket science, you can't really go wrong but I'd get a fire extinguisher just in case.
