I could easily survive 20k annual. Doing it on under 15k lol.
I survived on 15k in london.. the more you earn the more you spend.
I'd need to be on 100k + month to not find things to buy ha.
See, at this point so many people seem to just chuck it on the credit card.Everyone is different, many burn through their wages and really are "skint" before their next payday.
The snobbery is strong in this thread.
That's an achievement, must've been hard in London.
You wouldn't find our meals in a 5* cookbook but we eat well. We benefit from economies of scale as there are 3 of us and we have a menu for each week so occasionally it can be a bit samey but that's what you do when you're on a tight budget.
Bread is all homemade, get about 3 loaves for the price of one loaf of hovis, home made quiche, pasties etc, it all saves money.

I don't earn much and I can't afford much, but for that same reason I will NOT even allow myself to have a credit card. I took out my one and only loan to pay for the cheapest wedding we could manage and that was it.
We'd need about £40k for a mortgage deposit, I think, so that's something that'll have to wait until I win the lottery... which I don't actually play either, so....
Rent 400, nice joke
If only!
Based on someone earning 20k the takehome would be £1415
also I save 800 a month saving for a deposit and I say I am skint far from it but I don't have money to waste on random ****
ERR... your rent is very high for the salary you earn - I hope there are 2 incomes to your home as it could be pretty bleak. Surely you can work a better situation out.
