Got offered a car and wondered what I should offer him?

He must know it's broken if he counter offered your offer with an even cheaper price so u have money left over for "jobs" as he calls it lol.
It doesn't make sense either your friend is bs'ing or he likes throwing money away for no apparent reason
Even We buy any car would offer him nearly 3k for that.

How good mates are you ... one of you is losing badly on this deal. It smells. I'm sure we had a thread a while ago where someone bought a car off a friend, after ignoring the advice from motors, and it turned out to be a right lemon.

Conversely, I would not want to take advantage of a friend with a cheap offer and if I don't really need the car, am not going to stump up a fair price for it either.

Are you both in Germany as per your avatar ? Assuming its a UK spec, how much aggro would it be just to get it to the UK and him sell it for cash to WBAC. If its a left footer, is there no equivalent of WBAC in germany ?

Wish I had a cheap second car to take to work instead of my Focus ST...:(

Everyone at my work thinks am nuts for bringing it to work..

This makes no sense. Why are you 'nuts' for bringing a Ford Focus to work!?
Because everyday I get covered in oil/grease/dirt

Yes I change cloths & shoes & wash everyday before getting in my car at the end of the day but there always some oil or grease or dirt I will miss..

Waiting for the "Car has 4k loan against it what can i do" thread.

Hm, good call. Absolutely do a check on the car first. :)

TBH the fact that I think it seems like a great deal should be enough to make you run for the hills...
