*** The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Thread ***

Got a pop up message telling me not to use my phone and replace it immediately.

edit: It looks like this message pops up as soon as you put it on charge. And it's not charging above 60% now - fingers crossed that CPW have sorted their mess out tomorrow.
 
I just noticed if I go into my faulty Note 7 > device maintenance > click battery> then advanced settings there's option to turn off 60% and it says charge to 80%

I'll test it now by charging it
 
Not once, twice but three times, three times tonight on flight home, a statement was made by the pilot, then both stewardesses read out the warning about the despicable weapons of mass destruction that are Samsung Galaxy Note 7's.
Odd they never mentioned that the landing gear of that plane model actually has a higher rate of failure % wise than a smartphone melting and burning.
 
Just spoke to CPW and they have stock in their central depot which apparently needs ordering for replacements. no mention of stock for sale.
 
anyone know why every wifi EE calling sounds like a drill going off on the first call and when I call back its fine? I cant hear it but its what people tell me. Only does it on wifi calling

Have you tried different wifi access points?

The EE website doesn't have wifi calling for Note 7 in the list of supported phones http://ee.co.uk/help/phones-and-device/wifi-calling.

I've got a Note 7 but no option to turn on wifi calling so not sure if there's a bug somewhere.
 
After a bit more work my upgrade through CPW has been reprocessed and I should* have my replacement, along with a free set of wireless earphones and £50 credit tomorrow.

*Subject to CPW head office accepting that this a replacement and not a new order - the store did put notes on the account explaining the situation but given my luck so far it won't run smoothly.
