Dashcams!

Thats perfect dude, thanks.

I actually bought the F770 thinkware having had an F750 previously - but this model was the only other unit on my radar at the time. Would be great to see what it looks like once installed.

Didn't get a chance to get some pics , totally forgot that I had to do an airport run tonight , ill see what I can do tomorrow.

Some pics of my install of the Blackvue DR650S 1CH

i have stuck it behind the rear view mirror , so when im driving i dont actually notice its actually there.

All wired neatly into glovebox fusebox and thats the only bit of wire that you can actually see.

View from outside close up , if you are about a meter or so away from the car you can hardly notice it is there.

Very similar to my Blackvue install, but why did you put it off-centre? Also, its usually easier to power from the overhead console to make it neater and stop the need to route the long cable around.

I wanted it behind the mirror so i dont get distracted when im driving. If i wanted it center i could have moved it along to the right , but i would be noticing the dashcam all the time when driving.

I have also wired it with the PMP box for the parking mode as well hence it is wired all the way around , and besides the wire is long enough.

Feel for you homer :(

Some git did the same to mine literally a day before I was due to have my camera installed! - It seems only bubble-wrapping our cars can keep them safe!

Did the thinkware catch it? (i.e. the car pulling in?)

I do have footage of it, yes :) The security team contacted the individual (they have said they weren't aware and had driven off to another car park, I had the reg plate and went walking to get their parking permit ID and snapped the photos when I found it). They passed the proof on and the lady contacted me. Spoke to their husband too and exchanged info. This one is hopefully going to be quicker as they will either be paying for it themselves or I will be going directly to their insurer (depends on the price I get back for the work).

EDIT: not too sure why the forums are putting the pictures the wrong way round

Jesus you've been hit twice in as many weeks?

That looks worse than the first too. I think your Thinkware cam has paid for itself already.

hmm

I got my parking mode in "time lapse" im viewing the video (in Thinkwares own media player and normal media player) and I cant slow down the footage..

So i think I've narrowed down my hunt slightly to the two offerings by Thinkware, the F750 and the F770. I'd want front and rear from what i've read so would the F750 make more sense, cost-wise, or should i get one F770 now and add to it later?

got mine on motion detection and I wanted to get yesterdays "motion detection" recordings and they've gone, got todays events though, so I guess its recorded over, got it set to "type C" to give me more room , shame I cant adjust it manually how much space for each

used space 5 Gb from a 32Gb card

That's a good advertisement for a cam if anything. Glad you managed to get it resolved. It doesn't look like the sort of thing you wouldn't notice. Absolute chancers.

Sorry, I will try and grab my settings a bit later. I have the same issue with the car parking mode as there is lots of motion in the car park so it will overwrite footage. It's finding the right balance.

Just an update on the second incident, Admiral (third party insurance company) have been fantastic, they are talking to the bodyshop I want to use and getting me booked in, courtesy car has been arranged and paid for by them. Very impressed with the service and how quick it has been dealt with.

You can say that again, around £2500 worth of damage. The dash cam has paid for itself.

Homer, what parking mode have you got your 750 set to in that video ?

Cont. sensitivity is set between low and mid.

Parking mode on.

Parking sensitivity in between mid and highest.

Motion detection on.

Motion sensitivity mid.

Off voltage 12v - 12.2V
Off voltage 24v - 24.4V

Brightness front and rear - normal.

Wide dynamic range enabled.

Now going to look for a polarised filter for it to remove the glare (it's not bad but want to see what it's like with one)
