BF1 getting DX12 :)

You're not exactly missing out on anything.

DX12 means very little at the moment.

untill games are designed from the ground up for DX12, we wont see significant change, thats why i dont even bother when i hear a game is using dx11 also, by definition it will be the common denominator, cpu multi-threading is a plus, by dx12 is supposed to be more than just that.

I've recently bought a cheap 2600k to upgrade from my 2500k.

BF1 having dx12 support, does that mean it will actually use the hyperthreading and improve the minimum frames? (when the cpu is the bottleneck)

Yes, and provide smoother frame times.

I always have done why the hell not?

Low settings are better for seeing things clearly. Also gives higher minimum frame rates for more consistent aiming.

Personally I don't care and aim for eye candy in battlefield but there are very competitive people out there. See the BF4 thread for examples.

Yeah I always tweak settings for best clarity and to sustain decent performance though I don't obliterate everything for the sake of it aslong as performance holds up reasonably well I try to keep some graphic fidelity but for MP having responsive aiming and a clear view comes first.

You don't even need mesh at ultra. There was a patch a while back that meant 3d spotting was no longer tied to it.

Personally I prefer the look of low. Just like it clean without tonnes of effects. Even play sp on low

Lets hope they get Xfire right out of the box, or more than likely it'll go backwards like BF3 > BF4 did, took around 8 months for FB4 to become stable. Be nice to see something from Dice work straight from the box!

lol notice the soft blurring effect once he goes anything but native resolution... This happens to me as well the ingame setting is useless infact SSGSSA does the same on Nvidia select supersampling in Tomb Raider and the same happens on the coastal cliff after the cave intro you can see the leaves blurring out with any form of AA. Use DSR X4 instead at 0% smoothing and it literally takes a stick to the image and beats Supersampling or ingame res scaling so bad it hurts.

Im not blind but damm i think theres a game hidden here somewhere under the shaders, fog, Color dimming and massive amount of blur i just saw. I run BF4 3840x2160 Textures and Texture filtering Ultra everything else off or disabled for 120hz so this will be judged harshly.
