I'm not disagreeing, that its not better and will get better. but I certainly disagree about near utopia, for one reason everyone has a different idea of what that is.
and I don't even see such a species shying away from contact if such a situation arose.
do you really think in 1000 years we wouldn't still be searching and make contact if it arose. even if we've expanded to several solar systems.
However I did like the relevant stories the media all talking about brain cox on the Fermi paradox and civilisations killing themselves, only for him to tweet, its been fun being misquoted all day.
media really is rubbish. even specialised media get stuff wrong 95% of the time.
