Not usually one for sob story, so will try to keep it brief.

We had some photos done recently of our Daughter Pippi! Shes a total character and some of the pictures came out great.

However recently we have been hit with a totally unexpected £900 car bill which basically too away all the funds I had saved up to buy any photos from the shoot.

On the viewing (even after a hard sell) i explained that due to the unexpected car bill I cant buy something I do not have the money for.

Long story short our only option was to enter 1 image into the "cute baby" competition in order to try win a nice canvas print - so here is my plea.

Believe it or not, this was a total natural shot, no instruction (as anyone with a 2 year old will know its impossible to get them to do anything you tell them.)

Please copy and paste the below into address bar:

I would appreciate anyone who would be nice enough to vote legit. If i can at least get this for the misses, she would think the world of me :)

Thanks in advance.

£1000 canvas? How flippin' big is it for them to try and justify that price?

I pressed vote, but I think there's some sort of work block, will do it at home as well if I remember.

Voted,

First off that is a lovely photo of your daughter. However I don't mean to offend but was this taken by a "professional" and if so in what setting? because I think you might be getting taken for a ride.

I am hardly the best photographer, I'm sure some others from these boards know more but the shot is not what I would expect from a professional. The angle it is taken from, the lighting and background are basically what anyone with a DSLR could produce.

Can I ask how these photos came about and what they were charging?

EDIT - looking at the rest of their site they do seem to know what they are doing.

Read it again. His car bill was £900, which used up all his disposable money and now he can't afford the print. There's no mention of the cost of the print but I'm guessing £100+ if it's from a studio.

Please be aware that this is the photo they wanted to submit, purely based on the subject matter.

The studio have some really incredible photos of her, but this one stands out purely for her character that comes through, and i tend to agree - captures her nature perfectly. although i do appreciate what you are saying.

The Canvas is £1000 ticket price - but as with most photo studios the price is always debatable.

I wont be taken for any ride - because the car is knackered :D

Well how much is one print? Or a full size jpg you could send to DSCL or similar to get done on a canvas?

Pick your favourite, set up a justgiving page and we can contribute 20p each or something.

Voted. I'd personally recommend just hiring a photographer, though. We recently got some pics done (used our wedding photographer) and it was £100 for an hour. She took about 100 pics and we have all of the originals to do what we like with.

Charging £1k for a canvas is just absolute insanity.

Yeah its actually a great suggestion! Something I will look at moving forward once i have gotten over the hurt from the car bill!

Thanks everyone who voted so far - I'm having a tough time at the moment financially and the support, even though its something small, means a lot.

Can we have a poll for whether or not to open a justgiving page? I think it's the least we could do, given that we're all such lovely, warm, generous, considerate people here in GD :)

Just be careful with the amount of votes you gain "Photographic Synergy reserves the right to disqualify any entry for any reason. Gaining votes for your photo through use of 'click farms' and other pay for like's websites will result in photos being disqualified. "

I paid for a high res digital photo and printed the canvas for £30. Total cost was under £100.
